The outsize is so much faster when it comes to vacuuming the whole room with the larger head. We bought both, compared them and kept the outsized. It’s not like you are just holding the unit in the air 90% of the time so the extra weight is ok.

@@helomoto7699 You are absolutely wrong. Ask any normal sized woman to use this cleaning ONE ceiling fan. Her arm will be tired and aching. It's too heavy.

The outsize is just too damn heavy and people only but it as a quiet status symbol.

My first time buying a Dyson and I went for the Gen5 Outsize thinking the difference was only the extra battery and no idea about size or weight of vaccum. It is definitely heavy. I'm a guy and can feel my arms getting sore. I had purchased the unit for my retired mom who has an injury to her shoulder and seriously considering getting a second lighter unit or selling the outside

I got the gen 5 regular and it’s heavy don’t buy the outsize it’s super heavy

yeah, gen5 is already heavy and bulky. it collides when i vaccum and got scratches everywhere on the canister and cyclones
