I threw away a lot of my study materials last year. At first, it was really hard for me to do it, I postponed that decision for many years because I used to think that it was such a waste to get rid of things that I had spent so much time and effort on it. Then, I just got to to the point where my thoughts were: '' All this knowledge should be in my head, not in notebooks or textbooks, it's okay not to know everything plus I won't be walking around with my notes whenever I need to speak French, Russian or English, so what's the point of keeping all this junk, if ever need to refresh some of the knowledge, I will just have to go online and do a quick search'' and voilà: I'm clutter free😌😌 (well at least when it comes to physical materials, I still have some stuff I need to go through on my digital space - like tabs and random pdfs - and your most recent video has inspired me to tackle this area!). Greetings from Brazil!

I binned my uni materials the second i got my degree results back. 😂 tbh I was also moving countries so i couldn’t possibly bring huge piles of paper with me (I know, not very eco friendly). I think i still have most the material in e-form though. So excited for you about your move. London is very dear to my heart. 😊

I kept three textbooks, two of which I scanned, and one which was already an ebook. I kept a few tables and notes from courses relevant to the field of work I was going into after my degree and scanned them into pdfs. Recycling was super full afterwards.

Thank you for sharing this!! I’ve been out of college now for 4 years now but I can’t bring myself to get rid of all my notes. Even as far back as highschool intro chem. I’m not even working in the field that I have all these materials for and yet I’m so worried what if I need to remember this information that no longer lives in my brain…

I haven't thrown a single page away and I have all my study materials from both English and German Studies in my bookshelf and I don't really regret keeping them as foreign language and linguistic resources are either expensive or hard to come by in my town, so I guess it would be a waste to throw away something which I got during my studies and then have to buy it again. Anyway, I turned out to be quite useful as when I want to revise something from the English Studies which I might have forgotten over the years since my graduation (I love English but my job is sadly not connected to English at all), I can refer to the materials I've amassed with no additional cost. I really admire how you have everything neatly organised so I guess I would just organise my materials in a more orderly way instead of throwing them away.

Hello Laura, maybe you get surprised by recieiving a comment of a person my age. I used to communicate with a girl (many years ago). We sended letters to each other by mail service which lasted aprox. three weeks from México to Poland and I waited for four or five weeks in order to recieve the corresponding answering letter. Her name, Renata. She lived in Semianowice and frecuently mentioned Katowice, an industrial city. She was studying Economics by those years and I was studying Chem. Engineering. We kept in touch by almost 4 years. We never imagined that someday communication would be as easy and instantaneous as it is nowadays. I like your videos very much and I was specially interested in that one concerning the way you became teacher at 13 years old. Well, I am sure your videos will help me a lot as learning and practice English skills. Greetings from México.

Hello Laura. I have a question for you. Please answer. Do you think it is difficult to learn Russian or to learn German?
@LauraMaliszewska
@LauraMaliszewska 3 жыл бұрын
any language is easy or difficult in its own way and it all depends on your attitude, really.
@however-i-disagree
@however-i-disagree 3 жыл бұрын
don't forget that the speed of language learning depends on how closely the language resembles your mother tongue. for an english speaker, learning german will probably be faster because it is more closely related to english. but, as laura said, whether it "feels easy" also depends on motivation.
