10 years is nothing. Try over 60. My mom sat on the beach over in Amagansett the day before I was born in September '59! Spent every summer as a kid. My grandparents bought their place when my mom was in HS. They would be at our house in suburban NJ on the last day of school ready to whisk my brother & I away to their house in the Springs.
@janetmartin341 Жыл бұрын
Every year for the past 10 years this woman thinks is a long time? That’s hilarious, my Grandparents lived on the North Shore in a house built by my great grandparents in the 1900’s, and my parents had a house in Sagaponack. I’ve been going to Long Island for over 45 years and this is not the Hamptons I know and love. This is just a crazy video, if all I knew of the Hampton was this, I would think it was hell. Anyone who thinks they know about the Hamptons after 10 years is a tourist. If you have friends and family here it is truly a precious & quiet place to relax and take it easy. Not sure what this woman was doing or why.
@fitzwilliamdarcy52632 жыл бұрын
She is trying way too hard. Been coming to the Hamptons since I was a kid (parents have a big house near Georgica Beach in EH). The summer experience entails Manhattanites who are tired of being cloistered in their apartments all winter and want to enjoy themselves. Beach walks, beach bonfires, sailing, golf and tennis, shopping, dining al fresco, etc. It is not dramatically different than whatever you and your friends do in a waterfront country club town. The difference is that the Hamptons have billionaire NYers, and thus the mansions are larger, parties are better financed, and the toys are sexier (from sailboats to cars). Also, the landscape is ridiculously beautiful. But there is nothing to "decode." Just people having a good time. This isn't some soiree from War & Peace. Towns like Southampton and Sag Harbor are obviously very nice, but still small town America with some extra designer shops. People come here to relax, not to show off. Go to Palm Beach if you want to see billionaires really showcasing their wealth.
