Gibson, the iconic instrument brand has announced the launch of the Gibson Band, which features a revolving collective of Gibson artists. The Gibson Band’s first single “Deconstruction” which was co-written by Serj Tankian of System of a Down and Cesar Gueikian, CEO of Gibson, and features Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath on guitar is out now on Gibson Records: gibsonrecords.ffm.to/deconstr...
In addition to fronting System of a Down and co-writing the debut single, “Deconstruction,” Serj Tankian is also an accomplished painter. The cover artwork for the Gibson Band’s debut single “Deconstruction” is based on an original work of art by Serj titled “Our Mountains.”
Gibson Records, Cesar Gueikian, Serj Tankian, and Tony Iommi will donate all proceeds from the sale of the song “Deconstruction,” as well as the funds raised from an auction of Serj’s original painting “Our Mountains,” in addition to a unique Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar customized with the “Our Mountains” artwork, via Gibson Gives. Corporacion America and the Eurnekian family will match all funds raised which will be donated directly to the Armenia Fund’s Artsakh Refugee Initiative.

The Log was constructed by Paul after-hours in the New York City Epiphone guitar factory, and is one of the first solid-body electric guitars.[31][32] For the sake of appearance, he attached the body of an Epiphone hollow-body guitar sawn lengthwise with The Log in the middle. No Les Paul and Epiphone the Gibson Les Paul wouldn't exist today period.....Les Paul began construction on what would become the Log in 1939 after befriending Epiphone owner Epi Stathopoulo. Epi gave Les the keys to the company’s New York factory, where Les worked on the design after hours. His somewhat crude invention consisted of a four-inch by four-inch block of pine, on which he attached a neck, bridge and pickups. He played the instrument live but people were initially bewildered by its unorthodox appearance. No matter. Les Paul had a clever response. The luthier cut an Epiphone hollowbody in two and attached the two halves to either side of his four-by-four-inch slab. It was now essentially a through-neck construction, only with a separate neck piece. But, crucially, it looked not unlike a regular guitar. Its central pine slab also reduced feedback issues and increased sustain, while the guitar also featured a vibrato bridge patented by Doc Kauffman, the Vibrola. This is the Log as we know it.

I love the Gibson Brand, and my Les Paul, but this guy just seems to "know people" and have connections to the whole scene for who he is, but damn he's just trying wayyy too hard to be cool, and he's just...not lol sorry, Tony Iommi was probably thinking "who is this guy again? @@jconner3891he is right, check the forums for the quality of the Gibson workmanship, defects in the fingerboard, and many others... LP edition Standard Adam Jones signature, there are also many models that are poorly made... guitars currently not worth the price

@@nicatquluzad8969and if you think that an HSS Strat gives you the same sounds as a Les Paul, SG, ES-335, Flying V, Explorer, etc. kind of guitar then you’re really showing you don’t know what you’re talking about! There’s nothing wrong with Fender guitars, but people don’t just choose them because Gibsons are heavy and unergonomic (and by the way, you’ve clearly never tried an SG!), they play them because they sound different. They’re not Gibson’s real competition if people want the “Gibson sound”… there are plenty of other companies that are competing much more directly with Gibson in those sectors. I would also just ask where you think the many tens of thousands, almost certainly 100k plus, guitars that Gibson builds every year are going to if “nobody plays Gibsons anymore”? 🤔
