I'm going thru all your vlogs so I'm just now getting to this one. When my kids were little I let them pick out an ornament every yr (I started sometime after they turned 10 or so) and then when they moved out I gave them the ones they picked. My mother n law also collected ornaments for each grand child from birth to 18 and they got those as well.

My husband and I got married the first weekend in Dec. and we had a sweet Christmas ornament shower given by our Sunday school class. It was so sweet to have ornaments for our first Christmas together. They were wonderful wedding gifts.

Loved watching this! The angel from your first Christmas would be a great topper for a smaller tree decorated with photos of people that have passed on. Old family photos can be reprinted in b/w and framed in gold or silver then sprinkled over the tree. It makes a wonderful conversation tree to tell old stories and remember those that came before or that have influenced your lives in a meaningful way. That angel would be a perfect topping to the memory tree. Your home looks so loved and warm.

Balsam Hill has gorgeous trees. I purchased mine after Christmas when they had them on sale. Also, my husband’s Mom sent us a new ornament every Christmas. When our babies came along, she would send a special ornament for them, as well. I continue that tradition with my now grown children and grandchildren. It’s nice to have those memories of ornaments when decorating our trees.

Love your wedding gift suggestion. I’ve done this in the past. If you know of a future wedding when Christmas items are on sale at the end of Christmas you can get really great gifts on a budget.

Something I did for my kids when they were little I bought them an ornament every year while they were living here at home. When they moved out they got all the ornaments got to take him with them and like my son like nutcrackers I had bought him several nutcrackers over the years he took them. Just a thought you might like to do it for Benjamin I really think that they appreciate it,

We DO host Thanksgiving, and we DO start our holiday decor on 31 October. First,, it takes. Weeks, and I want to enjoy for a month, second, half of family comes for Thanksgiving, other half for Christmas ( 18 siblings between us) and they all love our Christmas decor 😍

The 9ft tree is stunning! Adding the ribbon to the bottom of tha angel makes it look longer and more proportionate to the tree. Thank you for sharing☺

I just ordered 2 of the bee skeps from gardeners supplies. I saw them last year on your channel but they were sold out. I’m so excited to get them. Girl, I used to have your energy but I’m 30 years older so it slowly dwindles after time. I do love watching you though. Give Benjamin a pinch on the cheeks for me. He’s so adorable!

7 trees..... crazy... I barely get my one done. You are amazing. When my boys were little I had to move breakable ones to top. For my kitty had to tie tree to hook on ceiling

I love your trees, I like that you don't over stuff them and you actually use ornaments not just picks, ribbons and balls. You can actually see the tree!!! The black and gold is gorgeous

When we have all ours up we have 5 including the one outside the door. We only ave The beautiful White long whites outside, and coloured lights in the garden. We have a slim one too. We have 18 sets of lights in the house. Laura we started a 3ft tree for our Grandkids just putting little Teddys and baubles it looks fantastic. We never use Ribbon on our trees. and you will never see Tinsel on our trees x We have about 9 big plastic tubs in our loft and we always write on the top what is inside and for what tree. We bought lots of glass baubles over the last couple of years for our big trees .

The wedding gift ornament is such a great idea! When my grandchildren were born I bought them and ornament every year for Christmas. They are now age is 18 and 20 and have a good start when they get their own home.☺️🎄

Maybe next year you could do another smaller tree with an angel theme! Then you could use your small angel topper on that one!

Buy black ornaments and use stencils to put glitter or paint designs on them. Works beautifully.

Balsam Hill's faux trees are beautiful and most are VERY realistic. We were impressed with Costco's faux trees and ended up purchasing the 7.5' one. It is very full and looks incredibly real!

Oh Laura please do the video on how to put ribbon on the tree sooner rather than later. I’m Canadian so don’t have to wait for your Thanksgiving to be over before putting up my tree. I’ve always struggled with the ribbon. It has never looked as good as yours. Beautiful decorating

I watched your ribbon and bow video while waiting in line at the drive-through pharmacy on Wednesday, great way to pass the time! My grandma taught me bow making many years ago. She owned a craft store and we made so many fun displays. This and your video in the garden center brought back good memories of working in the shop with my family.

Russell says, "But why must I stop? It's so shiny!" I think ornaments make really nice gifts. My kids received quite a few from their grandma when they were little. I use them every year and when they grow up and go, they will be able to take them for their homes. I'm waiting until after Thanksgiving to start decorating. Your videos always inspire me!

I know this is an old video and I'm watching in June 😂 but I just wanted to mention a tip I started doing because of kiddos and pets... I use fishing wire and loop it around the top of the tree and secure it to something so if it's accidently hit it won't fall over. I've attached to banisters or curtain rods ect. Easily hidden and saves my expensive and or sentimental ornaments

Balsam Hill trees are so real looking. They barely shed anything because of the way they are made. They usually run sales before Christmas. I’ve had mine for 10 years and I was not sorry spending the money for a tree that lasts years.

Bethlehem Lights sells very realistic trees. They are offered on QVC. They will be available in July for "Christmas in July" and also during the regular Holiday season... If you haven't found one yet.

It was so cute to watch Russel as you decorated (time lapse) his little head kept turning this way and that as you gathered decorations and put them on the tree. then he turns around and takes a nap. watching you wore him out!! LOL. so pretty, you really have a gift Laura, decorating and sharing in such a sweet and special way. 💕
