Wow - thank you for sharing! For 8 years, I had a kitchen with recessed tops of cabinets, and I was forever using books as stacks, or using tall items, which sometimes didn't work out too well - short ceiling .... I love that 2 X 4 idea!!! Kiss the doggys from me!

Love that I have some dog lovers on here, and y’all understand the joy (and sometimes interruptions) of having doggies! ❤️ I’m glad I brought that idea to mind of the 2 X 4, it was a lot of trial and error before I thought of that idea, so I totally understand using items to get the height right!! Thanks so much for watching Gaye! I do like that about my kitchen as well! I have seen the cabinets that go straight across as well, but in my area they are usually always varying heights, so interesting how all home builders do things so different!

This really looks so good! This is the first time I watched you and your video caught my attention because I’m trying to determine how to redo my cabinet tops. I don’t have a lot of space between the cabinet top and ceiling. I love the Italian word touches. My husband is part Italian so I love that idea. I’m subscribed and notified and can’t wait to look at some of your older posts and new ones!

Love it all. I do think I would switch the utensil holder and the pig cutting board that way the sides mirror each other with utensils being close to the range hood. Just a thought. Love your styling!

OMGosh the tilting crock.....in my opinion, its WAY TOO MUCH.....an old saying "less is more". I love the dark cabinets❤️❤️

The tippy crock would drive me nuts, also. The metal pieces you hung on either side of the range hood have a place for flower pots to hang, why not add some florals? Great job, decorating the tops of cabinets is my personal anxiety maker, you just went for it, and it turned out great!

I totally understand the tippy croc! I did end up removing it! As I said in another comment my husbands OCD would have gone crazy seeing that, I have no issue with things crooked! 😂 but thank you for watching! I would really like to put my antique kitchen pieces on top of my cabinets, but then there’s the issue of keeping them dusted. I’m disabled and climbing to dust just isn’t a good idea for me.

Aww why thank you Lisa!!! I have a very sensitive scalp so it has been quite the journey finding products that don’t mess my scalp up too much but I use Hair Food Avocado and Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner (you may be able to find it at Walmart or I buy it from Amazon) and Pravana Nevo Intense Therapy Leave In Treatment (I buy from Ulta but you can also order off Amazon) and lastly Chi Silk Infusion Silk Reconstructing Complex (from Amazon). Hope this helps! ❤️

I agree that they are dust catchers but I do enjoy decorating so for now they will stay up there. You can’t see the boards at ground level so it doesn’t bother that they are not painted, but if I were to do it all again, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to paint them! It was so fun to watch you create the lovely decor on your gorgeous cabinets. If I could just say, however, the repetitive music is not at all enjoyable.
