Then why does he entertain? Smfh. This ain't nothing new. He's been in the game 20 years and they were saying "pick a side" before him. The problem is that he only wants to fight entertainers. That's a weak side to be on.
@terrancerobinson20
@terrancerobinson20 8 ай бұрын
@@LurnWell did he say he entertains? That he's an entertainer? From my point of view, he's a teacher. And from your comment, I'd say you can stand to gain and learn a thing or two from what he's teaching. And it's not a weak dude to be on. Music is his platform. And he's challenging his colleagues to do better with this platform which, in case you didn't know, reaches millions. Instead of negativity and opposition, how about bringing positivity to the convo. How about we as a people turn a new leaf, turn to another page full of excellence and growth instead of continuously being deceived. And "entertainers" living on screen and in music, lives of debauchery and materialism. We won't get the respect and consideration we need until then. Open your eyes. We the only ones that put out music daily that degrades our communities, homes, and women even. The only ones. The music execs do this and it's not by accident. To keep us divided and uneducated so that we can not truly excel. Harden not your heart to wisdom and knowledge. Or keep this same energy and go post on Rick Ross and Meek Mill and Jim Jones, etc. page about their unsettling and substance-lacking material.
@LurnWell
@LurnWell 8 ай бұрын
@@terrancerobinson20 You misunderstood. I'm saying he's in the entertainment business. It doesn't matter what he says. That's what he is. Being a teacher has nothing to do with it. I know teachers from the neighborhoods and they still improperly handled the disconnect. You don't know what I could gain, because you don't know me. I know the Bible, this culture, and history "extremely" well. Yall can pull out the pom poms, but I'm good. This conversation isn't anything new. The gangs are influencing the music. His best argument after being in the game for 20 years is to go at the artists that actually have a positive perception on business, entrepreneurship, reform , etc... Weak strategy, and cowardly, because the gangs are influencing the music and he won't make it a topic, because it's a harder difficulty.

I’ve followed Dee-1’s career for a long time. There are 3 things that he is unapologetically bold about being: black, educated, dedicated to serving Christ in word & in deed. I think we’re so familiar with people playing church, that when we actually see someone standing firm in their faith, our flesh gets uncomfortable. Dee-1 doesn’t need clout (check his track record). He points people back to Christ. And I will always salute him for that. We can’t serve 2 masters (Matthew 6:24-26). At the end of the day, we all will leave here one day & have to give an account for everything that we’ve done to the One who created us. This is bigger than Ross, Meek & even Dee-1. Souls are on the line. Dee-1, thank you for your boldness, bro. ✝️

It’s still clout chasing. Because let your works speak for itself. Meek and Ross has been the same way since day one. So with that said why would you ever want to align your brand and mindset with those gentlemen other than you know you want to go viral off of the controversy. That’s like the guy who openly admitted he lied just to do more charity work and said Kanye was misusing the homeless on skid Row. He could have delivered his same messaging without speaking on those individuals especially when he was telling people to keep tagging them in comments.

@@ianrussellallcaps No, I think he’s in a position to call them out on it. You know what’s funny? If he was just some Pastor or Some Other Person with not as much following people would’ve said those same things, yet worse. “Clout-Chasing” is common nowadays, but that doesn’t mean everyone is going to do it - Will he benefit from calling out those rappers? Sure, but if it was another rapper with not as big of a following, who hadn’t caused as much of a stir / do you think Meek Mill or Rick Ross would’ve even taken the time to respond? Let’s be real here, because he didn’t have to call them out for what he called them out for if it was just Clout-Chasing.

Big ups to Dee1 for his boldness. But the truth of the matter is, there is no point of speakn against wicked rhymes comin from secular artists bcuz out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So as long as they have hardened hearts, it will always produce a wicked tongue. So I think it would be best to try & teach them the importance of purifying their heart so they can actually take pleasure or even hav a desire to use their voices for the glory of God.. Positively is always gud, but it's not gud enough to save your soul. Only righteousness is

When I bounced in nightclubs when certain songs came on it was a 95% chance a fight was going down, a young man could be at his tipping point but he been listening to that gangsta shit all day and 15 seconds of a bad decision causes a lifetime of regret. @@DSR1972 Nah, biased towards the perspective of others. Turk wasn't being negative. Weak excuses for shortcomings? Lol. You have no idea about the real problems if this is your take. Murder rates in some cities were even higher than now before gangster rap took off. Keep blaming rappers and see how far it gets you. Entertainers can't raise our children. Real gangs are influencing the music, not the other way around. Old conversation for new fools.

@@LurnWell You clearly lack understanding, no one is saying the music incites violence, it's about how black people are portrayed by the industry to the world we know crime existed before rap & I shouldn't have to tell you this, It's the negative image of black people that makes other people see us in a negative way and this affects us in a bad way. Example Young Thug's lyrics are being used against him in court, anyone dressed in hip hop fashion is looked at as a street thug, people who never met urban blacks think that's all we do is shoot & sell drugs. Rap reinforces those stereotypes. It's the image and for weak minded people it's influence & motivation to do the things they here in the music. Wake up man Your cypher is incomplete you're at 120 degrees. You need to get to 360 degrees.

@@DSR1972 I don't lack understanding. I understand "everything" he's saying. I lack cheerleading skills. I'm not doing cartwheels on everything he says. This is a poor strategy. Saving are children is more import than presentation. If we don't save the kids, there's no future to present. The gangs are influencing the music, not the other way around. Young Thug is a "gang member". This isn't about if rap has bad examples. This is about what's the most important step right now , and getting at those that actually do things for the community is a poor strategy. If you don't get that, then you lack understanding. Your insults are proof of your ignorance. Don't sound smart. Be smart... And I would never call another man "The Father", because I grew up with one. Each it's own... but I'll leave that at that. This is a weak fight.

Dee 1 stands on an unmovable truth that was not determined by himself. When you stand on the truth of the Word you do not have to justify bad behavior. I'm proud of him. He is bringing light in to a dark place and light brings truth. About 15 mins in to this conversation they wanted to hold everyone accountable but the artist. We not even gone address the fact that the primary person that was bothered about this is a former police officer turned industry plant that is using a fake "persona" to intentionally lead people to a pit. These conversations need to happen. People keep asking why he is doing this because they can't fathom this could be an honest opinion. You can't serve two masters. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
