I saw Jose pitch many times.. I would sometimes go out to center-field promenade and stand there and watch his awesome slider just dance.. The kid was pure magic to watch and I feel blessed that I got to see him pitch... Jose will be missed Forever in Miami.

future hall of famer, fantastic pitcher, all around real nice guy who really loved life. after hearing his story of how hard he tried to get to america & always talked about his love of family & freedom, i had so much respect for him. why does someone like him have to be gone so early?! loss for all of us.

I can't think of any other sport where bizarre things happen at the right moments all the time. Sep 11th Mike Piazza, DK Cardinals, Jeter's 3000th hit, Ichiro, and now Dee Gordon. The list goes on!

Ibhenriksen I knew before the game something special would happen. If this isn't proof God is real and loves baseball, idk what is.

I moved from Miami to Houston 3 years ago and before I left, the last thing I wanted to do was see the Marlins play. They had signs of José’s face and I remember how amazing he pitched and how cute he was! I loved the feeling every time I went to the park. Nobody I know likes baseball except for me.. then finding out soon after, he had passed away.. it crushed me. Something about who he was and his passion for living made his sudden death hurt even more. I will never forget that. It’s also so sad to see that now the team is completely divided and split up.. nothing is the same. 😥☹️

it's so shocking, so unexpected. I've seen jose pitch live a number of times, he's unique windup will always be in my mind. the passion the talent. I somehow refuse to believe he's passed away.I thought I was going to get at least 12 more years of jf. miami Cuba mlb everyone who knew him are hurt. I have know idea how we at going to get over this one. the one time I went so early to a marlins game I was appalled from the moment he comes into the stadium till the second he left it. he's focus while pitching was amazing. as a cuban American you were an idol somethin we all strive to achieve

A true tribute to Jose would have been them not running off for money, but sticking together and possibly winning one for him, not just a game but a championship. They had a good young core of players and they could have been really special, Even without Jose, but i guess if he had lived, he was probably going to dip out too. But they had a cool team, very talented.
