“It’s like science math” 😭 I can give some insight about diluting rubbing alcohol! Higher percentages (91%, 99%) are unable to maintain substantial contact with a surface to disinfect it because they evaporate too quickly. Using a more diluted version (70% is ideal, but there’s also 50%) has more water, which evaporates more slowly than alcohol. This allows the solution to remain on a surface longer to do its job ✨

Does your dishwasher work? The greatest adhd hack is learning how to properly use a dishwasher. Basically all you have to do is put your dirty dishes in the dishwasher and the dishwasher will clean them. Even an old one! I never hand wash dishes anymore. If you want to go down a fun rabbit hole I highly recommend watching the technology connections videos on dishwashers. Here’s a quick summary: 1) dishes need to be dirty to get cleaned in the dishwasher. Scrape off large food particles but don’t wash or rinse them before putting them in. Just put your dirty dishes directly in the dishwasher. THIS IS AN ADHD GAME CHANGER 2) use powder detergent (no pods) and fill up the soap dispenser. If there isn’t an opening in the dispenser sprinkle extra soap directly on the dishwasher door so it can be used in the initial wash cycle. 3) run your sinks water until it’s hot before running the dishwasher. This will allow the dishwasher to do the first cycle with hot water ensuring a better clean. 4) use rinse aid for the best drying and less water spots. 5) sit back relax and be amazed as your dishwasher literally does all the hard work for you!
@LovelessYayaoi
@LovelessYayaoi 7 ай бұрын
I’m sure you’re coming from a good place but this sounds weirdly patronizing lol “Put the dishes in the dishwasher and they’ll WASH them! What a concept!!” Yes her dishwasher works, she loads it at 17:03. Some things may not be dishwasher safe, or are unable to fit in the current load, which would necessitate handwashing.
@Noochbaby
@Noochbaby 7 ай бұрын
@@LovelessYayaoi from what I remember she puts clean dishes in the dishwasher at that time stamp hence my comment. It almost looked like she was using the dishwasher as a drying rack (something I used to do myself before my dishwasher obsession). It’s super common for people to wash dishes before putting them in the dishwasher because we tend to think that dishwashers don’t actually clean that well. As much as you might think it sounds offensive it is actually a controversial opinion to put truly dirty dishes in the dishwasher. In fact, I was one of those people who couldn’t be convinced otherwise and thought that dishwashers just suck. I recently learned that contrary to popular opinion dishwashers do in fact clean incredibly well without you needing to rinse, soak, or (if you tend to eat all the food on your plate) even scrape them! Not trying to be condescending here just sharing facts. When you have ADHD and the dishes are piling up the thought of having to wash the dishes can be overwhelming. Learning that I could simply load the dishwasher with truly dirty dishes (I mean crusty, dirty, disgusting, weeks old filth covered dishes) and press a button and they’d come out clean was such a game changer. Not only does it make you feel like you accomplished something, it also lessons any depression or anxiety you might have from living in a dirty space. She talks in this video about how doing the dishes is challenging for her so I’m sharing a tip from one neurodivergent human to another on one way I’ve managed to accommodate myself with this particular struggle. It’s a simple, free, and easy thing with a huge impact and I don’t want to gatekeep this info. If someone doesn’t struggle with dishwashing it might not be a big deal for them but for someone like me who has limited executive function? I’m not kidding when I say it has seriously changed my life. If you’re interested in dishwashers or want to nerd out, definitely check out the technology connections video. Can’t recommend it enough. :)

as yayaoi mentioned some of my items arent dishwasher safe or i just prefer not to clean them that way. i sometimes run the dishwasher on a rinse cycle after cleaning so I can save energy & continue my momentum. in this instance i just wanted to keep the counters clear, sink empty (for filming purposes) and already had dirty dishes loaded otherwise i wouldnt prewash since i know it affects the sensors picking up accurate feedback for performance.

@@abetweene”prefer not to clean them that way” Well, change your preference. Just put the dang dishes in the washer and click go. Saves so much time and money.
