I have said before, and am saying again: this is NOT an efficient way of cleaning sofas. Spray the soap solution, agitate with drill brush, and extract IMMEDIATELY. Don't let it sit; it won't help. Extract the dirt as soon as you have agitated it. And do it area by area; don't agitate the whole sofa and then start extracting.
