Fish with yellow stripes is a oblique banded snapper.

Scale the fish before filleting, skin the fillets and make fish skin chips, crazy good stuff!

Aloha. You can find the rod and reel if you google “Frigate Sales.” I wanted to get into deep drop bottom fishing but wasn’t wanting to fork out a couple thousand dollars for a set up. A lot of people use these in Florida to catch bottom fish. There’s videos of people reeling in two large snowy grouper‘s at a time no problem. Anyway, the verdict seems to be that these reels hold up really well and are an outstanding value. I’ve had mine for a little over a year now and love it. In fact I just ordered another rod and reel combo. Only problem is they’re on back order so hopefully I will get mine by mid May. Anyway, hope this helps and thanks for watching. Aloha.

I just went deep dropping yesterday. Pesky kahals. Catch and released several of those too. Funny that I caught one of those strange colored deep bottom fish too, Now I know that is a "Yellowtale KaleKale"! Thanks.

You're welcome. Hope you kept that one, it's good eating. I'm planning on doing a little deep dropping this weekend. If I have a good trip I might make another video. Keeping my fingers crossed. Aloha.

First fish is a good flag jobfish, it’s in the snapper family.

Do you guys do this for a living? How many pounds of fish do you catch a trip? How long are your trips? And can you tell me how much someone can make a day doing this for a living?
