Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod kzfaq.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

Hi, I wanted to ask you for advice as we have the same reel, at what speed do you catch the rising squid, 7? 8? 9 ?, and then when you hook the squid at what speed did it go up? At most?

I think they're way past " the fun out of fishing " part,,,It's more like " The fun out of CATCHING " now,,,I'm also a fisherman and it gets old "reel" fast when reeling up fish at depths of 100' or greater..so I can understand..

Agree, the video may have been boring, yes, but if you plan on doing any deep dropping, 1000 feet or so, try winding in just once to check your bait, with a 4 lb weight attached to it, add a fish to it, and you may do it once, before you pack it in, start the engines and go home. This reel is the Daiwa Tanacom 1000, and goes for around $550.00 U.S.
