We all would love to visit venues with picture perfect islands and margins with that beautiful 18inches of depth that make the fish so much easier to catch!
But the truth is most established fisheries are now much deeper than they once were next to the islands as erosion has taken its toll on the banks. This means that more often than not you are far more likely to find 3ft of water than you are that shallow water that we all crave!
But this needn't be a problem and by targeting these areas in a certain way, they can actually be great places to target!

Great stuff Joe! I've caught a lot of fish like that, although oddly I've never done that well on hard pellets 🤷 However, fishing meat or an expander hookbait has been great! I really enjoy it actually, more than ramming a heavy rig up the shallow mudline - feels a bit more technical and rewarding of the extra work to fish 'nice'.

It's a nice way to fish. can be a bit frustrating as foul hookers are inevitable sadly

Fish love micros... but in 3ft they are just a nightmare.to catch with them.
