The last several months have been really hard. I've always been a devoted daughter, despite how my mother treated me. It was only after her stroke, that I finally admitted aloud how negative, toxic and emotionally abusive she has always been. She will not speak to me. She's cut me out of her life, by doing so, she doesn't speak to my grown children either. I've had a lot of physical pain, sleepless nights and migraines as a result. I am trying, every day to move forward by forgiving her. Sometimes, like today, the sadness is overwhelming. This peaceful chanting helps me find my center. Thank you to those responsible for posting it.

listened to this for what felt like ten minutes max. synchronising my breath with the monks chanting , thought I'd better check how long I'd been at it, because it was quite loud, and I didn't want to upset the neighbours.It turned out I'd been sitting for an hour and a half and had entered a blissful state of transcendence. Thank you to the monks for their wisdom and discipline of practice and giving us this.

This feels mysterious and calming at the same time!!

There are several levels of sounds -- the undertone, the monks chanting, the bells, the water, the soft wind. All of these elements perfectly brought together. Add to that the brilliant cosmic vision of light particles falling into the charged surface of the lake in front of the rower -- a deep sense of wonder is evoked. Cold logic asks us to give up our sense of awe, but we must not. It is a gift to be nurtured.

This was discovered by Hindu Saints while meditating and experimenting for thousands of years. We say our science is Modern but Ancient Hindu Texts depict things and technology that are yet unknown to Modern Science and many of our Languages and Ideas all emerge from Ancient Sanskrit texts written by sages thousands of years ago. Western Countries might have developed now for lets say few 100 years but Eastern Countries and Civilisations were flourishing for Tens of Thousands of years with there own Knowledge of Earth and Nature. In the end everything will make its come back to Hinduism because Hinduism is not Religion its a Way of Life in itself It teaches how to flourish and live in life. Hinduism was a constant work of Ancient Sages who meditated and learned and added new Knowledge every day to their texts and formed huge collections which was 90% destroyed by Muslim Rulers who came to India during early Centuries. Just imagine so much work of thousands of sages destroyed just to rule and build a mosque on top of temple.

My mother occasioned a lot of pain in my life - and the aforementioned definitely applies - and I am glad that I did practice kindness towards her even in the face of her lack of it. Kindness is powerful. very powerful - not as a tool but as a strength (moving us from victim to empowered) from which we can experience being in the world.
