Deep Purple - Ian Gillan - Child In Time - ft Ken Tamplin - Amazing Live Vocals!
The original version of “Child In Time” ran for over 10 minutes and was first featured on Deep Purple’s album Deep Purple in Rock released in 1970.
The song was inspired by the Vietnam War as well as a song called “Bombay Calling” by the band It’s a Beautiful Day, according to Ian Gillian.
A staple at their live shows, the tune has gone on to become an anthem telling of inhumanity and war.
The song has been ranked at number 16 of the Top 100 Guitar Solos of All-Time by Guitarist magazine and has been covered by multiple other great artists including Yngwie Malmsteen.
Today I’ll be taking on the classic tune myself and I hope you all enjoy my version. Please make sure to let me know what you thought!

Highlander the one is the song i can't sing. Child in time is possible but for most singers its in their top end of their range. Which is hard shifting in notes when you are already in your top end.

I came here after seeing your video comparing Deep Purple singers. I saw them in S. Florida in 1970. Probably the loudest band I'd ever heard in concert.
