The best hard rock band all time. Period

Made in Japan is the best live album ever!

I'm 67 years old. I got to see them and so many other great creative bands.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Best Live Band Ever.... Deeep Purple!!!! here they reprise the pieces found on the much-lauded Live in Japan album, but in my humble opinion what they did in the live in Stockholm in 1970 .... child in time, mandrake root, speed king.... a masterpiece that future generations will continue to listen to.

Early 70s Ritchie Blackmore is some of the greatest guitar playing ever.

Nobody beat Deep Purple for live raw energy in the 70's. Blackmore, Lord, and Paice were all masters and innovators of their instruments. Gillan's Voice stood alone, and Glover held it all together with precision bass and amazing song writing and studio production

No autotune, no backing tracks, just 5 virtuosos shredding at an ear-crushing volume! (I saw them twice.)

Back when musicians were in complete control over their instruments, and could perform extemporaneously... I just love them!!

Didn't want that to end. RIP to the most brilliant man to ever play the Hammond organ...John Lord.....and proving why it has a place in rock music

That's how it's done!!! One of my all time fave bands for sure. Props to the rythym section that is, Ian Paice on drums and Roger Glover on bass. I enjoyed that Pope, lotsa fun! . There's a live performance on YT of Jethro Tull, doing a song called, "Nothing is Easy", at the Isle Of Wight festival, 1970, which I know you will dig. It's another rocking performance. Keep the Purple flag flying Pope!!!

The smoke was dry ice. However, at California Jam, Blackmore did have his amp and speaker cabinets explode into a gas fire.

Pope two great bands live are Deep Purple; Live in Japan and Yes; Yessongs. These are about the best live recordings ever done and they are two of your favorite bands. They did so much more than just play their studio songs well they blew off the lid every time. But I guess you have figured that with these bands.

this is an edited version of a show they did they did at Hofstra university..too bad the whole show doesn’t exist..it was edited down to fit in the time slot Of a show called in concert that was only 30 minutes long. Would love to have seen Highway star Child in Time and lazy from the show also speed king-Black Knight and an old little Richard tune called Lucille.
