All the members of Deep Purple are amazing musicians, Roger on Bass, Jon on Organ, Ian on Drums, Ian on Vocals and Richie on Guitar, but face it, it was ALL about Richie's Guitar, and ian Gillan's Voice. Mark II Deep Purple is the best Deep Purple.

In addition to the fact that this record is not complete, the group during this period was exhausted by exhausting tours, which were interrupted only due to serious illnesses such as hepatitis, and Gillan had already written a letter of resignation and left the group exactly a month later, so I prefer Copenhagen 72 (if with video) and Made In Japan.

Saw Deep Purple live in Tampa in '72 or'73. Supporting act was the unknown (to me) ZZ Top - great show. Those were the days - probably paid less than $10.

Great song BTW. Ritchie Blackmore in his day top 3 guitarist in the world.

This wasn't 1984, it was 1973! That back and forth between Ian and Richie is my favorite part as well.

Ooohhh, me fascina esta canción!! El duelo de Ian y Blackmoore es fantástico!! Ian Gillan siempre jugó un poco con su sensualidad, para mí es simplemente inigualable!!!

Great sad, bluesy song called "When a Blind Man Cries" Studio version. Unfortunately the only good live video is with newer members and not the MK2 line up. In my opinion, you need Ritchie Blackmore's guitar weeping for this song.

While still capable of delivering the goods, this classic lineup (Mk II) was soon to be no more. I prefer the more enthusiastic 1972 performances from Copenhagen and BBC London.

I thought I'd drop off another new group to give a listen, if interested "The Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter 23 (Live 1977)" the Brothers Johnson were an American R&B, funk rock band that were also a part of the disco era. the band consisted of two brothers George and Louis Johnson. They achieved their greatest success from mid- 1970's till the early 80's. They didn't have a whole lot of big hits, but the ones they do have are absolute Bangers. ❤‍🔥

Probably more like 1974... probably, definitely! But these guys were the shit man! I was weaned on them LOL -- we used to turn on the blacklights and just zone out listening to Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath JAM! Dig your review and the wall behind you-- especially Malcolm💔

It's a pity that Ian Gillan (vocals) and Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) did not get along... This clip was not the best and Blackmore was not feeling it and he was going elsewhere as he played and gesturing to the other members to play along... I never noticed this, but on stage, u have all 4 band members on 1 side and Ritchie on the other, and everyone is keeping their distance from him. I remember in interviews when the drummer Ian Paice said that Ritchie was a 'simple man' in some ways and volatile in others... The most inoffensive act to a normal person would set Ritchie off and ruin his mood... and if he went onstage w/ a problem, the band had a problem. Former Purple bassist Glenn Hughes said he did not particularly enjoy playing w/ Blackmore in 1974/ '75 because the guitarist was unusually difficult to work w/ during that time and quit the band by 1975... Hughes said he enjoyed the brief year that (late) guitarist Tommy Bolin was the band in 1975/ '76, because he liked the music that they produced in more his style of playing... But drugs began to affect him and Bolin, and the performances suffered... the fans did not care for Bolin... and Deep Purple split up by 1976.
