@@nameisnttaylor if you manage to get your hands on Thermal Exhaust Feedback, give X1212 a try (T1C is preferable as it increases your effective range but up to preference.). Failing that, 1X31X (T5B for a more regular operation, T5A to spam the OC effect) Aggressive Venting is also an option. Drak is unfortunately plagued with questionable OCs and a dubious core philosophy (a """sustain""" weapon on a pick specialist), but considering the amount of responsibility placed on your shoulders, having a more sustainable, generalist gun might be helpful in keeping you in the fight when you're basically by yourself. Pair it with either Boomstick as a get-off-me (or get-me-out if you find Special Powder) or Boltshark to mitigate your long-range weakness (even boosted, Drak's projectiles are still worse for range than hitscan, but Boltshark bolts are fast enough that they're almost on par with hitscan for most regular caves) and add some extra versatility to your kit, and you should be fine. Zhukovs are fairly redundant with the Drak unless you get your hands on Cryo Minelets, where their area denial is preferable to their direct damage. OPA is great though. I've been using 21112 as my main build for the past year or so, and it's been very reliable. You just need to accept that you shouldn't shoot at enemies on the other side of the cave with it and manage your heat well. With no OC taking damage mod you get 11 damage with 750 shots, with OPM taking ammo mod you get 17 damage with 760 shots. That means even if you'd need to miss more than a third of your shots to lose ammo economy over stock. You definitely shouldn't play it like a typical accurate scout primary, but it is much better for scrapping with bugs up close and personal. And again, even if you sometimes miss like half of your shots on an important target at mid-long range, you're still doing similar damage and will easily make that ammo deficit back against close range targets.

@@supersaiyanweegee5599 yes, that _would_ be a decent rationale *if you were playing solo* or in a Scout stack, but in any other situation, every other class is better at close-range combat than you, even with OPA, and conversely, every other class is worse at mid- to long-range combat, where you absolutely excel and is indeed at least 33% of the reason to bring a Scout on a team, the other 67% being lighting and mining. You can't possibly expect to outperform Driller in CQC, I won't let you lie to me like that. Engi's Warthog and Stubby bloom past a few yards and his Lok-1 has a max range on the locks; Driller's primaries all have a very short (relatively speaking) max range; Gunner's minigun has to shoot at other targets first to build up "reverse bloom" and not waste ammo, his Hurricane's rockets take a while to reach longer ranges and leave him wide open to close-range attacks as he's locking on and his Autocannon has crazy bloom, even at closer ranges. Meanwhile the GK2's more effective builds and the M1000 in general all have next to no bloom and are ideal for those scenarios. You can _try_ to have the Drak mimic them or make use of the AV gimmick, or you can miss a third to a half of your shots (like you mentioned) on something like a Trijaw in the middle of a fight, which can mean the difference between instantly dropping it and letting it fire its shots, potentially downing someone and blowing your defense wide open. Nevermind the ammo economy problem, which, yes mate, is a problem and isn't "compensated" by doing more damage, because while it may be "more efficient" than stock (a very devatable claim), it is _not_ more efficient than some other OCs and definitely less efficient than the other two primaries. It's good that you found something that works for you and you enjoy, but as Scout you are kind of expected to "shoot at enemies on the other side of the cave". Let's not pretend this doesn't make that job harder than it needs to be.

I brought 2 of my green beard friends into a haz 5 mission w shield disruption and lethal enemies, let’s just say it went to hell pretty quickly but it was hilarious hearing their reactions

Yeah, as gunner I almost always have at least 90% of all of the revives, especially when playing with greenbeards. When I do I'll end up with 20+ revives LMAO And unless I'm playing with a level ~560 friend I'm typically the one to clutch too

Ehh, hasn't been an issue for me even though I mostly play public lobbies. If you're playing haz 3, no one really expects anything from you other than not starting events/calling the drop pod without making sure everyone's ready. If you're joining haz 5 lobbies as a complete greenbeard some hosts might kick you if you get downed a lot or don't use the basic features of your class like platforms, shields or drills, but that's the type of behavior most of the community despises. The lobby's name gives a lot of info on whether or not you should join it: if it says something like "speed running/no gold mining/no events/must have at least 3 promotions", then the host is probably a sweaty tryhard and he might kick you.

it does happen, unfortunately, i've seen a few posts echoing that sentiment on the subreddit. we generally stick to just playing with one another, and we'd never make anyone play hazard 5 unless they want to
