Roxette had 4 US number 1 songs and 19 UK Top-40 songs and selling over 75 million records worldwide. It's up to everyone to decide if thats success or not. I would say that they were and are very successful. Roxette still has many fans all over the world.

Roxette were HUGE back in the 80's and 90's, some would even say the early 00's too. They're Swedish, so that may be why you haven't heard much from them. Also Marie Fredriksson (the woman singing) died in 9th December 2019 from a brain tumor. Also she and Per Gessle (the guy with the guitar who sings with her) got together to start touring again in 2011 but in 2016 they had to cancel the touring because she wasn't in good health (I believe that this is when the tumor started to surface and affect her health)

There was a brief period where this type of music was very popular. 1988-1994 give or take. It was always competing with the grunge movement. Roxette was a very “produced” sound. Stark contrast to the grunge music that was popular in parallel to this music. I’m 46 and was a teen when this music was popular.

So happy to see younger KZfaqrs reacting to one of my all time favorite groups. IMHO they never had a not-single-worthy song. You can just pop in an album and let it play from beginning to end. Quality music from start to finish.

They were big in their time! They had many hits!

They never really got the support from their record label that they deserved. They regarded this as one of their best songs but it really struggled in the charts.

Roxette is the best. Listen to Stars. It's a techno kind of song, totally different to anything else they ever did. After Abba, Roxette are the biggest band from Sweden. They were HUGE without any help from social media 👌🔥❤️

How big? Well, im from asia....we here in asia love roxette. Even in my car everymorning otw to my campus the radio always playing roxette. They are big just like other band from US.

One of my all time faves from them, right along with the sweet hello the sad good bye, milk and toast and honey, you don't understand me, watercolours in the rain, fireworks......... There so many great ones!

They where huge. America dropped them just before this ding came out because whatever reason. Back then it was all about money
