Deep Six compilation was released March 1986 ). It was the very first release by C/Z Records, a few months before the release of "Sub Pop 100" from Sub Pop Records. It was also arguably the first record to influence the later "Seattle sound" that would be known worldwide as grunge(Wikipedia)

Man, I love this one. Makes me so sad to know what we lost with Andrew. ☹ Mark Bolan would have been proud.

You have to wonder if Malfunkshun would have achieved notoriety had the band remained together. Stone Gossard had a very good eye (and ear) for talent.

Stoner rock goes back to the mid/late 60s and early 70s. Look up monsterfuzz, dig around a bit, and you'll find a few bands heavier than this. Basically when distortion became a widely accepted thing stoner rock was born. This is some great stuff here directly influenced by the older stuff.

Stoner rock and grunge share the same origins, so to speak. A blend of Black Sabbath and Black Flag.

@Nirvananerd364 - yes he was the singer for Malfunkshun (his brother as also in the band), then Mother Love Bone - he died before Apple was released, and MLB splintered into Temple of The Dog (courtesy of Chris Cornell), and then Pearl Jam. Incestuous but awesome!

With your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands Cry little woman You're sad for sure You lost your power Caught in a monkey grip Fool for the torture Losing your mind Still I'm stoned so I can't deny Riding the jungle one last time With your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands Oh with your heart not your hands Crime's getting old now 'Cause you're set for sure Can't you feel my power Call me a casanova Fool for a poison Don't mind if I But still I'm stoned so I can't deny Your bottle, bottle, bottle of love Oh with your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands Oh with your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands Oh, with your heart not your hands Call me the ape man 'Cause I'm free, I'm free, I'm free I'm naked on my own now Look at me, look at me, look at me My time is my own time So I drove on down And I'm hangin' out, and I'm chuggin' out, and I'm gettin' drunk With your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands With your heart not your hands With your heart not your With your heart not your With your heart not your hands

maybe record but the whole reason eddie vedder moved up to seattle was to get in pearl jam. Jack Irons gave eddie stone and jeff's music eddie put his vocals over it and sent it up and the rest is history. Album wise maybe but watch Pearl Jam 20 it give's the bands whole history from their perspective
