Nice video! But got training from the master Miro himself today: even better!!!! Miro you are the first ski instructor, who was able to teach me "tiefschnee skiing". Thanks for having two nice days with you on the slopes.

I watched this video before and I really like the videos! Short and steaight, but just a question: I hear a lot that a carve ski can do well in powder, which other skies do and do not ski good in powder? Maybe an idea for a video explaining different types of skies for various situation!

so if you have 80-90 mm wide ski you can do anything,good pist and offpiste, for deep pow is better from 100 up so you dont sink so much in snow but the same ski on hard slope is not so much fun :)

Great videos ! Thanks! I just have a question : I heard that in powder you should lean back to lift the skis , is this correct or should you lean as usual?
@miromiro
@miromiro 5 жыл бұрын
Is a bit back to get tips up and than central position .
@miromiro
@miromiro 5 жыл бұрын
so just minimum leaning back, keep pressure on middle of boot not on toes.

Thanks. You don’t mention weight distribution. Weight on balls of feet, heels or neutral?
@miromiro
@miromiro 6 жыл бұрын
it is playing around neutral point like allways, by pressing the ski bit on heels, by rebound neutral when you fly in snow, try to do bunny hops and you will automatic get good position.
@miromiro
@miromiro 6 жыл бұрын
for buny hops pressure is same on both skis(flat on ski no edging), apply pressure bit on heels(tips of skis need to go out of snow) and go neutral by rebound, then turn skis slightly. There are 2 common mistakes, turning too much(you will stop or loose speed), pressing ski on edge(you will stuck too deep in snow).

It depends on how your skis' tips & tails flex and where the bindings are mounted. Ski straight & easy, push your feet a few inches forward, pull your feet a few inches back, feel the point where you are the most balanced. Note how the boot cuff feels against your leg when you're in the best-balance point for your equipment. This is your "home" position. It's OK to push your feet forward a couple of inches to help the tips raise at the end of a turn, then pull them back to the home position for the next turn. I'm talking very small movements, not a big sit-back. Sit back if you want; that is so tiring....and makes everything more difficult.

It is one thing skiing first buckle high powder it is totally another game skiing waist deep powder - that is when you need to know how to make a platform with both your skis - six inches of soft you can still get away with old habits

It also matters how fast you're going. On a 40 degree pitch, you can skim on top of powder that's a couple feet deep if you're going 30MPH on powder skis.

Gabriele D'Alessio just wery soft buildin pressure on ski and gently edging, if you press hard u will stuck in snow

It's all about balance. Technique is the same. Visualize an airplane banking in a turn in the sky. Ski both skis as one, equal weight on both, same angles in the snow on both. Roll your skis to the angle in the snow that gives you the turn size you want--just balance as the skis turn you. Do not push the tails out to the side to turn--it'll trip you, but it's like falling into a feather bed...a cold wet feather bed.

@@mickeyandlucy Also a key thing for longer turns is speed.
