Episode 4 is all about some old school techniques using some new school technology. That's right I said it and although I'm not the biggest fan and some of you know where I stand I won't stay in the dark ages forever. I'll use it when needed but it's not everything I do. However, thats not the only thing we find, we think we found the one thing no one is doing and we might have just figured out how to win this tournament. Then again this is fishing and tomorrow is always a new day so lets see what goes down. Does anyone think they know how this will turn out yet???

I can't even explain how awesome this series is. I finally got back on the water today after 9 MONTHS at a lake that has a ton of boat traffic, a ton of pressure. I was struggling a bit at first, then thought about the things you said. "Everyone is so busy looking at their livescope...just go fishing." I turned off the livescope, and started watching the water again. Fished an area at the end of the dam that has an obvious rock point sticking out. But I started going down the straight area, fishing what I thought would work and caught a fish. Looked at the depth..."I'm in 8'." Move down about 30 yards, look down "wait, I'm in 7.5' and same distance from the bank...this is just an underwater point." I started thinking like you said, and had a really good day. 9 months without fishing and instead of getting spun out, I fished my instincts.

i agree a point. on a point, on a point is something I've found is true and a lot of people won't tell you. if a rock sticks out on a bank big enough for a bass to hide on and that stick out further than the rest of the bank it's a micro point and at times holds fish. really liked the info on the underwater points deal and the rest of the info too. keep em coming Todd

Just can't get over how honest and refreshing it is to see a honest take on fishing. There is a science to it and electronics plays a part, but nothing trumps experience. Time on the water and being intune with your surroundings can not be underestimated. Great series.

Ground breaking knowledge for even a seasoned fisherman. Thank You sir. That is my home lake and everything you are saying I have witnessed there. Huge bass, hogs , gators and snakes!! There is so much structure to fish there it can be overwhelming to a new fisherman coming to that lake. There could be a bass around all of it but they usually aren’t. You have to figure something special there if you want to stay on the big ones. And as you know that can change from day to day. I love to just go fishing on that lake and keep my eyes and ears open! Wish I could have been at the scales when y’all came in.

Just watched episode 6. Love it bro. You are doing something no one else has ever done. A window to the mind of a guy that has fished his whole life. When you said you been pre fishing your whole life I was like this guy is the bomb. That’s what all that practice and thinking and them countless hours on the water that no one can ever take away from you. Can’t wait to see episode 7

A little birdie told me that POWER POLE is coming out with a trolling motor and that it is literally going to outshine and outperform every brand that is out there to date, and that they have some specific brackets to make all these transducers so much easier to mount and make a life easier as an angler that has 47 graphs on the front of their boat, and that they even have some integrated stuff but they have not let the cat completely out of the bag just yet because covid pushed back their release date and they said it was a blessing that that happened because they had more time and opportunities to adjust and change things and add things that they never thought of before they initially wanted to release?! Now I'm with you as far as forward facing sonar, yes I look at it as just another tool in the toolbox, but it do not think that it has to be the end-all be all as far as tournament fishing.. I think that if you get on the water and you drop the trolling motor over the side of the boat and you spend all of your time with your head looking down then you miss all of the subtle differences that are around you, like a road bed just barely creeping through the Wood line off in the distance that you would miss if your head was down, you would miss birds sitting on the bank feeding on bait fish knowing that just beyond those bait fish that there's bigger fish underneath them, and so on and so on and so on! But you said that you hoped that this forward facing technology is the end of it and that it really doesn't go any further from here because it's just going to get more chaotic as time goes on, but from what I've heard when POWER POLE releases their new trolling motor.. it's just going to amp up the game even more. And I'm not just talking about a trolling motor and I'm talking about all the features that this trolling motor has and the things that is capable of! Have you heard anything about that? and do you know anything about what I'm talking about? And trust me when I tell you that this is a reliable source!! a VERY VERY VERY RELIABLE source in the industry!!!

I have a few different local series I fish on Lake Cumberland during the summer. I know you have fished Cumberland before when you fished Flw so you know how it’s a pattern lake and conditions are a big player. Man with just what I’ve learned so far my average finish since you started this is 3rd and I’m fishing 4 nights a week with around 40 boat field. I been using it to go back and look at places I lucked up on and really didn’t understand what was going on. The process works!!!!!

Do I think I know how this is going to play out ? I've watched too many of your videos. Ain't no way I'm biting that. Besides, as you've taught us. Practice and Tournament are two different things. What I'm thinking is that you have a circuit set up right now. What I'm saying is there are places you've been bit. The heavy bites. The ones you hide. Those have come at different times and wind conditions. Depending on what you find wind/ conditions is where you'll start. You already have a game plan in mind, but want to hear Brent's thinking before the two of you set it up. So ya, that discussion is something I want to hear - for a couple of reasons. #1 To get a feel for the guy. You brought Russell into it with Hallman. Thank you for that by the way. #2 You two have a spent a long time together. So I imagine you two would almost never complete a sentence. Hopefully with a couple sips of good bourbon 🙃 Buffalo Trace anyone ? #3 I think it would be a chance to hear the "non-verbal" of your thinking. I get it - it's reflex. Like looking over your shoulder to see if anyone saw that big one you just stuck. Thanks for listening Todd. I'm with the rest - bring it !

During practice when do you start shaking fish off? In our club the lake goes off limits for the week of the tournament. So at that point does it matter if you set the hook or not?
@WILDBILLSOUTDOORS
@WILDBILLSOUTDOORS 2 жыл бұрын
Look at it like this, are you on a lake that you don't know very well, or does it happen to be on a lake that you are very familiar with and have good confidence in. Two different things, If it's on a lake that you don't know well, or maybe it's your first time there, probably wouldn't hurt to set the hook on the first few bites especially if it establishes a pattern, but once you figure out a pattern and a game plan, then I wouldn't try to catch any more of those fish, I would go looking for something else. Say you get there and you figure out a grass pattern, once you figure it out, start looking for a back up plan in other areas of the lake, maybe you find something on docks, or maybe a rock bank, or maybe something out deep, also, pay attention to what you're seeing on your graph, maybe it's a lake that is known for deep fishing, but all the bait balls are suspended in 10 feet, always pay attention to that stuff, for instance in the summer maybe the thermocline has set in and that's why the bait balls aren't any deeper than 10 feet. On the other extreme, say it's a lake you're very familiar with and you have a week off limits, I would probably not set the hook on my big fish spots, even though it probably wouldn't matter with over a week away, but just try to establish a plan for the tournament and even though you're familiar and confident with the lake, go try to find some new stuff, if I was trying new stuff I would be more likely to set the hook. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Blaukat dropped what I really think his MO is today. He claims to continue to hear from R&D within the electronic companies that say AI and underwater drones are being developed by all the companies and its going to kill our sport. I absolutely believe that he has grown his channel with pure crap. He puts out a “Dear Abby” video every single Monday and says nobody watches it. I think he believes he is a combination of Rick Clunn and Aaron Martens. It’s just clickbait until I hear the same from other pro’s. He is the best at coming up with a bait modification video daily. Many that I feel are just clickbait. Same with the tech. Any opinion on how he is as a goo person ? I personally think he is the biggest complainer in the world and he comes off so much on his channel I don’t hardly ever watch him anymore. I’m TOTALLY 💯 AGAINST FFF! So is he but I just don’t like him! He calls anglers that complain about his complaints on FFF. I get far more knowledge from your trio and Johnny Shultz. He has an MBA and his channels allow him to make a lot of money. I hate that he drags Blaukat with him.
