I just knew that the little piggies would go inside. How funny! They'll soon be big enough that they won't be able to fit their whole bodies in the opening. Please update us on the success of your design as they grow up.

Hysterical! Loved it. But... they won't be little pigs long. Pigs grow fast, they will be tossin' that barrel around like a toy in a few months and wearing it like a hat! I have to say, you are quite talented, was so impressed with your idea and execution! Very nice work!!

Hey Danny, can you give me an update on this pig feeder design please? I wanted to see how it was working out after 6 months use? Would you do any modifications? Is it holding up? Can bigger pigs / hogs get to the feed easily? Did the separation help with the fighting when they are eating? I am needing to update my feeder and wanted to see. Also I feed slop and wanted to see if you did as well and if you poured it down the tube where you pour the feed. Thanks in advance from Chile. Jim
@DeepSouthHomestead7 жыл бұрын
Our 3 pigs are about 100 lbs and they are doing good with it. We do put slop down the tube. The plastic is holding up and no I wouldn't make any modifications. It is good for small pigs and up to 3 large pigs. Thanks

The babies had me laughing so hard. This was a great ideal for the feeder. They will outgrow this pin pretty fast at this rate. Danny do you guys do your own butchering? I never could do the hogs and cows had to send them out for that. We did all the chicken and rabbits at home.

Success, Danny and Wanda! That was entertaining and I applaud your design. Personally, I could just hear, "Food Guy", "Hey, Food Guy" and "Where's breakfast?" in amongst the rootin' and snufflin'. Thanks for this video. By the way, why did you instruct us to put our corn seeds in the freezer for a couple of weeks? I did it, but am curious if it's to kill any six-legged stowaways and their potential offspring.
@DeepSouthHomestead8 жыл бұрын
They should be put in the freezer to kill any eggs from insects that may be in them.All grain has eggs laid in them no matter what type it is. Thanks

I got hubby to watch this one with me and we are both cracking up watching those little pigs go all the way in the feeder and scurrying out. We are wondering if this type of feeder would work for adult pigs though? Our adult pigs are a smaller breed called Idaho pasture pigs (IPP). We currently have 3, and are having to supplement their feed because apparently the pasture(s) we have them rotating in wasn't enough, because they look small or not very heavy even for their breed. We can't see their ribs so not that bad, but they root and this breed was created to not root, but they have ever since the first day we got them. Anyway, we are looking for a cheaper solution to a stable feeder that they don't knock around and doesn't hold water. Thanks!!

Great design! How did it hold up when they got 200+ pounds? :)
