Not only senior citizens there are many middle aged people who've had to face problems and job losses im the recent past. Whatever they have received as compensation have been taxed but noone looks into whether they are able to cope and unlike in other countries they are not given any facilities even though they have paid taxes etc. These have problems getting jobs as they don't get caught into the eligible age group. They have just passed or on the rim of it. So they psychologically down too. But they are people who do not/have not burden/ed the country all their life. But they are the reason the reason the govt service and servants/politicians survive. As they have always paid taxes but never received benefits🙏 I'm not talking of the people who work abroad. They have got profits through leaving country for their betterment (higher salary), tax exemptions/currency exchange etc..

Those who have lost there jobs after working in private sector and retired private sector workers and small scale self employees whose jobs, industries are now at risk are not benefitted at all by this relief allowance package of Rs.5000/- The main aim of the Finance Minister was to curb government servants from protest marches and strikes because there was a threat to the Government. But there are so many middle class, grassroot level people who are unable to protest against government because they have no unions. That large segment has been completely ignored. They are now struggling to meet both ends together. Not a single political party speaks about them including JVP. They all are talking about Government Servants who too are privelagious with host of other benefits. It is high time those unemployed, and retired people without pensions get together to form a pressure group to influence those idiot policy makers and selfish ministers. Many private sector workers who have lost their jobs are only leading a hand to mouth life having deposited what ever they got as terminal benefits on FDs where the interest rates are very low.

මේකා බැසිල් ඇතුලු රාජපක්ෂ රෙජීමයට කඩේ යන එකෙක්. ඔයවගේ අමුතු දේශපාලන හා සමාජ විද්‍යාත්මක විචාරකයෝ සෑහෙන්න ඉස්සරහට පහල වෙලා මහජන මතය වෙනස් කරන්න උත්සහයක් දරයි. හැබැයි මේ වගේ එවුන්ගේ පිටිපස්සේ ඉන්නේ රාජපක්ෂලම කියලා අපි හොඳට තේරුම් ගන්න ඕනි. ජවිපෙ පැහැදිලි කරලා තියෙනවා බැසිල් මොකාටද එන්න හදන්නේ කියලා. පෞද්ගලික අංශය සූදානම් නම් පාරට බහින්න ජවිපෙත් සූදානම් කියලා ජවිපෙ කියනවා. වොයිස් කට් දිදී ඉන්න එක නෙවෙයි ජවිපෙ දේශපාලනය කියන්නේ මිනිස්සු ක්‍රියාත්මක වෙන්න සූදානම් නම් ඔවුන්ට නායකත්වය සැපයීම මිනිස්සු ක්‍රියාත්මක වෙන්න සූදානම් නැතිනම් ඔවුන්ට රටේ දේශපාලන ගමන් මග ගැන පැහැදිලි කරලා දීලා ජනතාව ක්‍රියාත්මක වීමට සූදානම් කරන එක.
