I replaced all my ladders with stairs and hand rails. I’m in Iowa so ice and snow cause slippery issues. Also, as one gets older stairs become a safety factor and are quieter than ladders.

If I were you I put a slide window on much easy to use and keep the cold air coming when you want to shoot.

Windows way to big and you have all that detailed work why not have a nice set of stairs
