The soundtrack to several very memorable years living in Providence. I’m not prone to nostalgia but Deer Tick’s first three albums always do it to me.

LYRICS Elbows on the window sill My head against the pane You've seen so many grow and die But you forgot most of their names So I fire that arrow into the great big sky And I hope that it never comes down Unless you're coming with it It's better with you around I could drink myself to death tonight Or I could stand and give a toast To those who made it out alive It's you I'll miss the most But tonight I'll see my sweetheart I've got a fifty dollar bill But somewhere in her weak heart She knows I never will Oh love, it's hard to hide it True love, it's hard to find it Though I was once beside it I've fallen far behind it From a tiny room up on Smith Hill It's easy to disappear It's easier to run off hiding Then say "I don't want you here" I can't stand to face the facts It'd only leave you hurt I don't care much for what you have to say But I'd like to know what you heard Oh love, it's hard to hide it True love, it's hard to fid it Though I once was beside it I've fallen far behind it It's a long way free You can't tread on me And in the morning when you're crying You'll see

I have been watching all the episodes of this TV series within 4 day-span while locked in airbnb studio in Dublin, IE :-) I remember exactly the moment I switched on a TV for the first time and I was hesitating what should I start watching...music videos? some movie? I launched Netflix and started to browse the titles that appeared on the homepage. I chose "Kingdom (Navy St)" because one of the actors caught my attention - Matt Lauria (Ryan) - I think he is very handsome and I like guys with such a personality like "Ryan". As a gay guy I was positively surprised about gay-thread in the movie, but eventually it made me feel quite depressed considering how the things ended up. But ..what I would like to express is...I am thankful that I came across this movie because it opened my eyes on certain things in my life, I am 35yo guy and I have been living more-less like "Nate", in the beginning not out at all, then from my late 20s semi-out , hiding from the "scene" (after bad experiences with relationships) ...and the prime time of my life has just passed me by in a split second since then. The series motivated me that I need to go out of the shadowside. Look after myself, be proactive because I will never find a true love locked at my home. I have just signed to the gym and I am thinking about getting a fitness trainer to revive my looks - i have always thought about this but I was never enough disciplined to carry on with the gym regime (I preferred tennis or table tennis instead). The story of Nate made me realize that I may die tomorrow ...or in a month ...in a year ... without having experienced a happiness in my life. I want to find my happiness and I promise I won't waste any fucking year anymore. And...this song is one of the few from Kingdom (Navy St) that touched me because ...especially the chorus is thee part I personally connect with and identify the most

Good on you mate it's easier said than done but fuck what anybody thinks or says about your sexuality the people worth keeping in your life are the ones who accept you for who you are. You will never truly be happy until you're free from hiding the real you! Good look mate!
@bigjoe30753 жыл бұрын
Wow! You expressed yourself beautifully. Amazing how music and film can connect with our lives. Everyone grows at different times in their lives. Don't regret time lost. Look forward to adventures and happiness ahead. Keep the character of Nate and his positve attitude with you. God bless.

My older brother just tried to kill himself with mass amounts of Xanax. His kidneys are failing and he had 3 bad seizures. His brain is not working properly either. We have not seen eachother since I was 13 I'm 27 now. He sent me this song and told me to listen to it, along with some other songs by other bands. This song almost made me cry very beautiful. Even though we are far away we have music to heal and. Bond over
