A little insight to this movie for many Korean fans: Mastani (the woman) is the second wife of the man Bajrao. She's a warrior and he was infatuated with her when he met her. Upon leaving her kingdom, he gave her his sword as a goodbye gift. He didn't know, by that act (giving of the sword) this meant that he's now taken her as a wife in the woman's culture. She arrived at his kingdom in grand style to become closer to him and take her place as his second wife.
