almost 28 year ago in 1984 this recording was created at my house in North Nazimabad Karachi by Nisar of My Choice music centre....I still remember all the misicians scatters in my living and bedrooms at midnight, Ameer Sultan on tabla, Ustad Salamat on Flute

this was also present in film WAFA - (1981)
also sung by pankhaj Udhas in ghazal album "Jashn - Vol 1" the only difference of lyrics is
"deewaron se milkar rona achha lagta hai".
all other is same.
i dont know why Asif and Pankuj has used Qaisar instead of Nasir in Matlaa' of this ghazal

my name mohammed nazeem from a state called kerala on the last southern end of india. almost 30 yrs before i used to hear asif alis ghazals from audio cassettes. after losing this cassette i was wandering for his song.finally i found. thanx a lot. may allah shower all his blessing up on you noble effort

From the style and other poetry it looks like the mind child of Nasir Kazmi any other poet should have other poetry like this one which can prove to be his poetry

What a memorable ghazal. Listened to him on cassette the first time it was released. I sang along with him all the time. I chose to sing his ghazal ...Ujar de mere dil ki duniya..... first time when I sang in a private gathering with tabla and harmonium. Almost 20 years later I met him in person after listening to him live.

yeh ghazal originally is sung by asif ali then ghula sabiri qawal the punkuj udhas too it. asif ali had beautiful voice. his nazm ab key rat punam mein and darwaza khula rakhna were great hits also. als i am told he destryed himself with alcohol feroz

I have heard Habibwali Mohammed sir sing this in a concert and am looking for a recording of this song in his vocals. Is it available? While I enjoyed this song by Asifsaab, Habibji’s rendition was superior and has been in my memory for the past 30 years.

i agree, this is the original very first recording. also yes it is the poetry of qaiser jaffri, when ghulam fareed sang it as qawwali he hs used Qiser's name in maqta'a of this ghazal. then many singers sang it including pankaj udhas. similarly the ghazak " jab se tu ne mujhe deewana bana rakha he...sang her shakhs ne hathon pe utha rakh he" most people think it is nasir kazmi but it is by hakeem nasir a karachi's poet who is also a hakeem.

'dont know why Asif and Pankuj has used Qaisar instead of Nasir in Matlaa' of this ghazal' Because this ghazal is not by Nasir Kazmi as commonly misunderstood. It was written by Indian poet Qaiser al Jafri. There are some alterations made in film version most probably due to film requirements.

@takallum CAN YOU TELL US WHY ASIF DID NOT SING MORE SONG AFTER THIS ALBUM. NO MATCH OF THIS SINGER SO FAR I NOTICED AFTER HIS THIS ALBUM. ALSO I DID NOT HEAR HIS MORE SONGS.
