The defense attorney will learn very quickly not to push Judge Simpson - especially when he is already irritated.

I have huge respect for Judge Simpson, however, your point is moot - the case will (now) be heard before Judge Burke; I did wonder why Defense Counsel first asserted that August the first would be ok, then backtracked. In the matter of Homicide - irrespective as to whether you're the prime suspect or an accessory after the fact - both parties are involved with the taking of a human life, & to that end, $25,000 cash bond is more than reasonable; given that the defendant is in custody, I wonder how tolerant her employer will be (after the fact) ?

@@davidhaney1394It seems Judge Simpson disagrees. He is including other factors in the accessory after the fact charge, her presence at the scene of the shooting and having the guns, not just the transportation. No lol required. I’m a little surprised the prosecution did not include another, more serious, charge as the top count.
@Tindometari
@Tindometari Жыл бұрын
It depends somewhat on state law, but generally, if you were present on the scene with the murderer, you were involved. Unless you can convince the court that the murder was a spontaneous, unplanned thing that surprised you just as much as it did the victim and you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time in the company of the wrong person. Sounds to me like the accessory part might have been a plea deal (possibly because she assisted in convicting the hands-on participant). Clear accessory-after-the-fact would be, for example, if the murderer ran from the scene to your door, told you about the murder, and you gave him a getaway ride.

CPR is of limited effectiveness. It buys a little time, but damage to the heart and brain will still occur. You need a defibrillator and probably a large dose of adrenaline to get to heart going again. Once you have that, trauma surgeons can do miracles these days. Your chances after going into cardiac arrest from a gun shot wound aren't good, but they aren't zero.

In some neighborhoods in Chicago, Fireman personal and Paramedics will not go into these neighborhoods until the police arrive. My Uncle was going up on a ldder to rescue a trapped child and the community was pelting him with bottles and rocks. I think these neighnorhoods should be sectioned off, given their own police and Fire station and only members of that community can police it or protect it. These places are beyond saving by anyone that does not live in those communities. Time to let them take care of themselves.

I think the comment by the Def Atty that "I have to remind Prosecutors" was not called for and pretty damn arrogant. He could've said if the Pros views are always believed, Def Atty's wouldn't have jobs, leave out the stupid I have to remind Pros all the time BS. Apparently murder isn't serious enough for this guy., I know he's gotta try his best for his clients but that makes ya look pretty clueless. Also she is alleged to have also pointed the gun at the victim show she didn't just help move the body later, she was there when it happened. Her charges are only what the State thinks they can prove.
