Great detailed review! I ordered 2 of the more expensive "extra" ones and am awaiting their arrival. I am a victim of the hype! I am a Barbie stan and I just hope they look at the price, clothes, screenings of these dolls and up their game a bit. But, expect a law suit forthcoming given Mattel's history.

So glad to come home from work and see a video from you! It definitely distressed me. Yes!! I have been seeing these dolls everywhere and people are surprised about the quality and especially the articulation ( hear that barbie). For the price these dolls are awesome. There is another one with a fur coat that comes with more accessories and a pet. I think there's 4 or 5 of these dolls out there. I'm so tempted to buy LOL. Once again you delivered another awesome video! Btw I'm getting that package ready to ship.😊

Great minds think alike! I use a touch of hand cream on doll hair as well. I also use StaticGuard spray to eliminate flyaways during styling. I think you did a great job with the hair restyle. I, too am late to the Defy Lucy dolls, but I will be getting a couple to see for myself very soon.

When I was a teenager. Back in 2003, I found Deffa-Lucy dolls in a store and I like them a lot. I bought a few and gave as gifts. They were super cheap. Back then they had bend and snap legs and the classic 90s Barbie body . I still have a dress from that time. Quality was not bad.

Never heard of these dolls probably because i avoid all drop ship sites like shein. However they are some really neat dolls. Compared to barbie extra, the quality is low but they look really cool. I love the hair and fashions.

Excellent review: the rooting is always the big question and I love the way you showed us. Great value dolls. Still the one thing fashionistas have is variation of faces and ethnicities. But to be honest, the last wave of fashionista did not interest me.

So I collect JHD fashion dolls(collector price rate dolls) and I can't help but notice the similarity in the face painting technique with defa so I was just wondering if the creator of the JHD doll brand is making a affordable price range line in a new brand name just a theory I don't have any facts BUT just imagine how smart that is tho

I was very disappointed by these dolls, specifically the rooting. Their faces were the only reason I wouldn’t return them. I just found out when I was rebodying mine. Try this on the articulated doll if you want: pull a small clump of hair and it will come right off! No wonder they were priced so low! They did not put effort into rooting the hair. The hairs weren’t knotted at all, not even glued at least for minimal effort. The best way I can describe how it is rooted is like threads in a needle- insert on one side and then out the other so that when you pull a clump, the hair comes off while you see the other half burrow into the scalp on its way out. Now I have the burden of having to reroot them!

Awesome review! I do think the brown/ blondish one may have a nylon blend. I dod a review on my channel JUST to test the hair fiber itself. The defa lucy with thr pigtails has a nylon blend. But they do use a seran mix as well. Please check it out and it may help with the hair type ID.
