Mario, I agree with what y'all are saying 100%. It is time for the body of Christ, the church to wake up and stand up, I have always separated myself from the pastors because they just wasn't talking the right language for my soul, or for my spirit. The Lord Jesus told me to come out of the building. He was the only one who could teach me now. I've always told Jesus that I don't know what it is, but I could feel something inside of me that is so powerful. Now, he has me reading the book Acts and Revelation. When you brought up the verses in Acts chapter 4:29,30, it like my spirit just caught on fire. This is what I am going to pray every morning when I get up to meet my Lord. To grant me with all Boldness to speak his word and by stretching out his hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Jesus the Christ. I feel like Iike those two verses have a lot to do with what I feel that's inside of me. I love this ministry that y'all have going on here firepower. I ran across it by accident, no, I take that back nothing is an accident. It came across my path because that's what God had designed for to be. God bless firepower and Amen! The slow boil frog reference reminds me of when back in 1993 they started allowing young people to reference adults by their first name, as long as they added Miss or Mr. to the front of it. Our culture in this country at the time was to use last names to reflect respect and recognition of the person's authority based on age, elder status, relationship, teacher, etc. (example: Miss Jones or Mr. Smith, and you would give people permission to use your first name. And that is what was expected. But it is a lost art nowadays, and I believe that is in part why we have the erosion of respect for authority and adults by our young people. That change in our culture is what in part began the slow boil metaphor in this country in my humble opinion. But maybe we can turn that around by going back to Mr. (last name) or Miss (last name) when first meeting someone and/or showing respect and we can demonstrate that to our young people. We could also include "yes mam" and "no mam" or "yes sir" and "no sir" or just YES and NO instead of "yeah "or "unun" when speaking to one another. It couldn't hurt. But it could be a start to something better.

I’m wrestling with a church like you have described. It’s an Assembly of God but very generic sermons every Sunday! The church is so stagnant but I’ve visited others in my city and they’re all the same. I’m praying that God will lead me to a church where the pastor has a backbone!
