I taught women self defense for years. One thing that I always stressed is that women should avoid upper body moves in dealing with aggressors particularly male ones. Most strikes that a female can muster against a man have little effect due to the males' physicality and being able to take lots more abuse. This move demonstrated is pretty good in context but I doubt that it would have the desired effect against a man who is bigger than her who is meaning to do her harm. teach them the no brainers like groin and shin strikes. Getting to the groin from that angle is going to be problematic for anyone.

Exactly. These scenarios where "first you do this and then you do this" and the person attacking in the demo is waiting patiently for you to do your "technique" is not preparing you for the real world.

There is no any pattern to be proved in real combat. But practicing taolu or kata serves to find balance and understand the logic of movements. Every chain of movements could be disassembled and combined in other manner. As for women, I'd recommend to use knives or other tool as a leverage for controlling the strength of stronger enemy. Women have less strength but they are more flexible, accurate and artistic. They have everything to win if they are trained to mask their feelings, movement and weapon.

Hello , I live in Croatia (Europa). We have several great fighters Cro Cop ,Mirko Filipovic and before him our most honourable warior Tigar Cikatic ( Tigars was name of our best military unit, he was member of very same during war against Serbia ). We were attacked 1991. - 1995. . But Im writing to you because of Kuro obi which is very popular among my people and I am great fan of this amaizing documentary movies about Chinese , Japan and other eastern fight schools which are cradle of best martial arts ever 🫶 This episode is so great because I can watch this amaizing sensei how he shows every single move slowly , so I can lern with his beautiful balerine 🫶. My God ,she capture everything so fast ... and the way she thinking is stuning 👍 I learn so much through Kuro obi and it helps me to achive some great skills ! Thank you for such great containtent and wish you and all your senseis , and their students love, piece and happines 🙏 Especially to your oldest one which is my favorite and most beloved sensei (Iron fist) ... he is so great and his tears always touch my soul , God bless this amaizing man 🥋 Greetings from Croatia 👋
