I felt sick listening to the opening statement by the state prosecutor. He did an AMAZING job of painting a picture of this monster...How he burned their bodies...how he hacked them into pieces...scattered them all over...manipulated his parents, girlfriend, and friend. I can't believe someone would do that to their parents...all because the lies he had made were coming crash down. Prayers out to the family and friends of these poor people who lost their lives for nothing 😔

That may be a part of the problem. You can’t just love your kids. You’ve got to discipline them and call them on their bs & lies. You can’t bury your head in the sand their entire lives and expect an upstanding and honest adult (child) at the end. It may happen if you’re fortunate, but how many times have we seen these entitled kids who were treated as a little too precious by their parents end up being rotten to their core?

This opening statement sounded more like begging jurors to set aside common sense rather than telling the jury there isn’t enough sufficient evidence to convict the defendant. There was no clear statement of the case made here. Defendants do have the presumption of innocence and are not required to put on a defense, therefore, it would be more convincing to say the prosecution does not have enough to convict. What is prosecutions case and why does it not prove beyond a reasonable doubt the defendant is guilty? This almost sounded as if the defense doesn’t know the evidence nor do they have any rebut to the circumstantial evidences which may be presented. Jurors are not legal scholars and should not be made to guess where this storyline is going. Also, telling people to dismiss their common sense is slightly insulting if you ask me.

Now, hopefully, they won't guess anything about your client & the murder\dismemberment of his own parents, now that you've told them not to..They'll simply look at the evidence, facts & the things that aren't there, as you asked, while they're deciding if your clients guilty or not.
