What system do you usually use? Box + 1? Having the winger low is a great way to keep guys from attacking the seam, but as you mentioned it gives more time to the point man. Not much of a threat until you get into the older ages where the D know how to shoot.

Because my son is only a SQuirt and NONE of his team stay in position I think this will really help a lot. Even though he usually plays plays center I rather him do the wing coverage because everyone tends to go deep and puck chase. Someone needs to stay higher up.

this is very helpful, considering, the basic setup. playing zone, playing YOUR position. and very helpful for noticing this from a offensive side. this is also a setup used in a defense power play. a very good useful video.. great job🍻

How low are you on the strong side? I always thought a little hire at the top of circle rather than face off dot.

Im using this video to up my nhl 19 defensive positioning. Silly me assuming that nhl 19 will reward me for playing anything like it’s real hockey

I had no idea wingers were supposed to fall back in that far...almost seems like C position I guess.

If you play pro yea cause u are fast enough to cover all that, normal level of hockey would never be able to do that

So are the black pad towers on the other team?

At around 3:00 you're describing the strong side winger's position as being pretty much exactly where the centerman would play. Why is that?

C plays deeper in zone + support the D man + is in D position relative to other forward in deep corner. All makes sense man.

When I was a kid, for us, it was top of the circle to blue line, but as long as the team is on the same mental level with regard to defensive coverage this works just fine
