Lydia Scarfò, MD, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University & IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milan, Italy, discusses the definition of high-risk disease in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), commenting on the role of TP53 aberrations and immunoglobulin gene (IgG) mutations as biomarkers with prognostic or predictive value, and highlighting the necessity to find more effective treatments for patients who are resistant to BTK and BCL2 inhibitors.
