This Ferrocaster, parsed down to essentials, still sounds completely useable. Despite some missing frequencies, that we assume are from body wood resonances, it's great for performance as it's unique looking and will get lots of audience attention.

I never actually played it in front of an audience, but the first time I took it to rehearsals, the rest of the band were impressed - well, shocked at first, until they heard it.

I like,,,,, the Double Cut-ish design! 12" radius! It seems that I would like the feel of the neck & set-up! I don't particularly care for much else on this.

Q. Why didn’t the Ferrocaster go to the party? A. Because it no body to go with it.🥲

Looks cool , sounds good and from hearing you playing,it obviously is a decent instrument to play too. Very interesting guitar and I would love to hear the backstory from the builder 👍

Really cool. I can imagine this done in chrome with an acrylic neck. This one gives me a kind of steam punk vibe. Always great to check out interesting one-offs!

Wow. It's out there isn't it. Maybe it qualifies in a new category of a No Parts Caster 😊 Great video. Wild but lovely guitar. Hope the guy gets in touch. That's a fella we wanna meet

John, good video. While I was watching the beginning when you were playing, I noticed how lightly you were touching the strings. I was going to ask if it had really low action. But you answered that later, 1 mm 12th fret low E, wow. Seems I like it low too, maybe 1.5mm and 1mm high E. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your preferred action height?

Other guitars I've seen with that sort of look have still had a central block body, and the sides have been removable for travel purposes. I would have thought the other reason for less body would be for less weight. I'm surprised it's not lighter.

Paul Reed Smith would have a stroke if he saw it. Selling “tone wood” is one thing but “tone air” might be a step too far for even his salesman skills.

Just wondering if there's a different feel to playing the guitar from a player who generally likes to stand and play - balance wise and if the lack of material in the body would lead to twisting and putting it out of tune?
@malcolmspillett8172
@malcolmspillett8172 Ай бұрын
Hi. I can tell you that it's as well balanced as any of my telecaster and holds tune really well. When John sent it back to me, it was still almost perfectly in tune.

@@malcolmspillett8172 thanks - it wasn't a criticism just more wondering how it would stand up to the rigours of a live performance. Looks great sounds great, I'm glad to hear it. 😁

@@IrishStewGuitar To be honest, I only ever took it out of the house for band rehearsals, so it has never had a hard life. I didn't assume you were being critical.
