some fun facts about each killer: Trapper made his cleaver with the metals from the mine him and his father who he also killed owns, he will kill anyone trying to seek his fortune. Wraith's bell was givin to him by his father for him to ring when danger was coming to tell the people of his village to hide, his weapon is made with the skull of his boss Azarov who made him kill people without him knowing. Hillbilly was born deformed, neglected and abused by his parents, he limps because he was shot in the leg by a cop who he later killed cause he broke out of his enclosure and killed his parents and farm animals. Nurse has a pillow case over her face cause thats what she used to kill patients. Myers defeys the rules of The Entity cause he can simply grab a survivor and kill them as long as he is at least holding a piece of his sisters tombstone. Hag messed with hex's and dark magic which killed her friend and teacher, she was kidnapped into a cannibal village were she wrote a symbol on the ground which fused with dark magic. Doctor is a child prodigy who wanted to know what made the human mind tick, he'd take students to a cabin, plant electrodes in their heads until he was caught but instead of being arrested, he was recruited into the CIA to aid interrogation. Huntress hums the lullaby that her mother sang to her before she died after getting impaled on a tree by a wild Elk, she has slaughtered platoons of soldiers and killed families to kidnap their daughters to raise them in the woods. Bubba (leatherface) was surrounded by black fog and taken into the realm after the events of the texas chainsaw massacer. Clown cuts off the finger of the survivor cause it how he killed people in the real world, lure them in, drug them, torture them, kill them and pick their most attractive finger. Spirit uses the same katana her father used to kill her and her mother, she kills in hopes of the next victim to be her father. The Legion consist of 4 people, Frank, Joey, Julie, and Susie. Plauge (Adiris) kills because she worships The Entity as a god, she thinks she saved her people but in reality they are all dead. Ghostface would stalk his victims for weeks even months before he killed them to get them at the right place at the right time, he would then write about it in the news papers. The Demogorgon is controlled by a different Entity called "The Mind flayer". Oni rips out survivors tounges as a reference to his lore were he ripped out "the tounge that tarnished the Yamaoka name" of another samurai for bad mouthing his bloodline. Deathslinger was put in jail by his boss after his boss stole his inventions, the warden made a deal with him "fill my prison with inmates and I will imprison the man who put you here", he recruited other inmates to create "The Hellshire Riders", he made his rifle to reel in bountys and catch them alive but the prototype had some problems when he tried it out, shooting a bank robber in the lower back and pulling out his intestines Pyramid Head punishes The Entity by killing survivors himself or in cages instead of on sacrificial hooks. The Blight was a alcamist who experimented on prisoners during the Opium War for a serum to make them stronger and after they all died, the entity brought him into the realm to experiment with a special flower that contained a special serum he experimented with on himself and other killers. Charlotte and Victor were hunted by a cult after their mother was burned alive infront of them after being accused of witch craft since they were born conjoined, the entity bargained with Charlotte and revived her brother Victor but she would be forced to kill other survivors Trickster was apart of a k-pop group called "No-spin" but left them to die in a fire to keep the attention to himself, he lures people into a abondoned wearhouse, torture them and sample their screams for his music, the survivor Yun-Jin Lee was his producer, he also picked up the throwing knives skill while working for his family resteraunt as a way to entertain people. Nemisis was created by combining Tyrant-103 with the Nemisis-alpha parasite which gives him intelligence to speak, use weapons and adapt to his surroundings, he has 2 different moris, one for S.T.A.R.S agents since thats who he was tasked to eliminate, he also stands at a massive 9 feet in height in his RE:3 remake version Pinhead along with the other Cenobites serve along side another Enitity known as Leviathan (aka The Engineer) yes I took the time to type this, hope you enjoy 😄🙂

The Deathslinger is even more scary when you look into his backstory. His whole idea is that he was a bounty hunter of sorts that used his mechanical genius to create a spear gun he called "The Redeemer". Early versions of it would not work as intended, instead if spearing a person to pull back in, it would get stuck and then almost completely let all of their insides outside.

via the DBD wiki, Trickster is a chatty fella, everything he does (getting stunned, hooking survivors, reloading) spoken all in braggy Korean in his Mori he says "Go!" when tossing the knives and "Thank you!" when the autograph gets pinned into the Survivor.

Trickster’s appearance itself isn’t creepy but going against him in game is quite different, the laughing, even his terror radius, it’s all like a game to him

The plagues mori is a lot more disturbing when you find out she didn’t just puke on them, she’s drowning them in her puke.

The reason some of the Mori's are underwhelming is that while the Mori animation is being performed on the victim the other survivors are in the background completing actions like fixing the generators. The more time it takes to complete the Mori (You are stuck in the animation for the duration) the more time you are giving to the survivors to get objectives done so they need to keep the animations short

The Cenobite isn’t killing the survivor, he is taking them to the shadow realm/ dev dungeon where they will be tortured for an unfathomable amount of time

I don't know if anyone already answered to you about The Huntress's mask, but it's because of her backstory. She grew up in a forest with her mother. One harsh winter when hunting an elk, that elk mortally wounded her mother before dying itself and while bleeding out, the mother sang Huntress's favourite lullaby that she keeps humming. After her mother died The Huntress lived alone, hunting animals and stealing from village(s) nearby. If she was caught, she would easily kill most people. One exception is young girls. She craved for a daughter of her own. She would kidnap girls to try and raise as her own, but she did't know how and they always ended up dying. She wore animal masks in order to appear less intimidating to her adopted daughters. Before being taken by the entity, there was also a war with soldiers coming to her forest. She would terrorize and kill those soldiers too, stealing items from them too. She might have a childish mind, but she is terrifying in mental warfare as she sang to announce to the soldiers she was around just to scare them so they'd stay awake. She'd keep it up until the soldiers were exhausted from lack of sleep. Then she'd attack. Can you tell she's my favourite?

I love when a new character gets released is when the community gathers to see what the killer does..You would have survivors gather around to see the more in action and every gets to see what's new compared to what's old.

Awesome, glad you guys covered this! I suggest looking into "character and chapter spotlights" for Dead by Daylight. These spotlight videos showcase the new characters per chapter and the new mechanics they bring to the game, while also showing the new map that players will get to play on. As an example, the "A Nightmare on Elm Street Spotlight Trailer" showcases the new mechanics Freddy Krueger brings to the game, I am sure your husband would enjoy seeing that, haha. The thing is, Freddy got reworked and that changed a lot of his mechanics, so there are 2 of those spotlight videos for him. But hey, it might be fun to see both the old and new version, and then discuss whichever you may think is better or which one you would prefer playing with, that kind of thing. And, double the Freddy Krueger videos means double the fun for your husband, haha.

I'm a Killer Main and my Favorite Mori is The Oni's Mori. It's just so brutal and cool at the same time, Mostly I use them when I see a survivor with flashlights and if they're doing toxic stuff to me lol

For the Killer side in Dead by daylight , I main the Trickster and the Demogorgon. The killer that I want not to get moried or rather fear the most is probably Oni , he is just to brutal haha Really like the Dbd reactions , keep it up ^^

Hey guys I’ve been watching you for awhile now and honestly best content ever and also you should check out the lore

The version of Freddy in the game is based off the 2010 remake version played by Jackie Earle Haley. His mori is a near shot-for-shot recreation of one of the kills from the remake, specifically, Jesse’s death. Apparently the devs (BHVR) were looking to create a licensed chapter in time for the October release date, since the Halloween chapter had released the previous year’s October and was a massive success. BHVR really wanted Freddy, but since Wes Craven’s death, New Line and the Craven estate have been at odds about the state of NOES and the license for the original 80’s movies are incredibly hard to get ahold of - The Craven estate holds the license to the 80’s movies, while New Line owns the 2010 movie, that’s why most merch these days uses branding from the 2010 remake. The Cravens wouldn’t respond at all, and New Line was refusing to cooperate for months and wouldn’t let them use the license without a significant fee, which was more than BHVR could afford at the time, and for awhile they thought they wouldn’t be able to get Freddy out at all for October. Then, the license holders for Texas Chainsaw reached out to BHVR and offered to let them make a chapter for Leatherface, and they started to work on a full chapter with a dedicated map and an original survivor (who was actually recycled as Kate Denson in Clown’s chapter, that’s why she’s a country singer!), with plans to release said chapter in the October slot. Apparently then, out of the blue, New Line finally gave them the rights to use the NOES 2010 license for a reduced (but still pretty high) licensing fee, and held them to the previous October release date they had talked about - so now BHVR had two big licensed chapters set for October but they could only feasibly release one. They had more work done on the TCM chapter, but they viewed NOES as more recognizable/popular and therefore profitable and garunteed to get some more eyes on the game, so they focused on making a full chapter for NOES and downgraded Leatherface to a single standalone ‘paragraph’ (meaning one single character, no map or accompanying survivor) and rushed the release for both Leatherface’s paragraph and the NOES chapter - to this day the back-to-back release of both licenses are considered an absolute disaster, the game was riddled with game breaking bugs and Freddy’s power, while visually very interesting and a faithful recreation to the source material, was either extremely weak against experienced players, or extremely strong against newer players, and eventually BHVR had to give him an entire rework that changed everything about his kit. Bubba on the other hand didn’t even have his own add-ons for his powers, people viewed him as a copy-n-paste of Hillbilly without the ability to go fast. He later got his own add-ons, and a series of buffs and nerfs, but he still shares a good chunk of his add-ons with the Hillbilly. hope you like that trivia lol

Little tip the Nurse is the slowest character in the game Like Mayer McDonalds slow but she can teleport and she has a short cooldown where her screen goes black, like the legion's.

The demogorgon was originally meant to rip the survivors head off but that would've gotten the game banned due to censorship laws so he just bite them and thrashes around to break their neck

The two that terrify me are The Huntress and The Oni. Throughout the entire game The huntress hums her mothers Lullaby with it getting louder the closer she is. The Oni.....he's a freaking menace. He has loud thundering footsteps and grunts that echo through the entire map. Nothing sets off your fight or flight more than hearing Oni's loud footsteps closing in. It's anxiety inducing

The reason Nemesis has two Mori's is because against Jill (or Leon when he's using the Chris Redfield reskin) Nemesis will utter his phrase: "S.T.A.R.S!" as both of these characters belong to Special Tactics and Rescue Squad, a primary target for elimination in the eyes of Umbrella- the corporation that made the bio-weapon that is Nemesis.

Not that I'd ever play this game, but I really like its whole concept. My favorites are the Hilbilly and the Nurse. The Hilibilly was horribly abused by his parents because he was ugly, and that's what set him on the path to become what he is. The Nurse, meanwhile, was a sweetheart who wanted to help people by working at an asylum. She started killing the patients there simply because she felt death would be better than living the lives they were. That's why she strokes her victim's cheek. She wants them to be at peace.

Yeahhhhh, Oni still holds the spot for most brutal mori animation. That screaming sound the Nurse makes is actually her fighting for breath... She was smothered/suffocated to death before the Entity took her Yup, Trickster tosses a signed picture in his mori. And he actually says 'thank you' in Korean

The oni was a real representation of what the real oni looks like in Japanese lore

The huntress wears the bunny mask and sings her lullaby so she won't frighten children. She kidnapped a little girl to be her "daughter" and the girl was frightened of her and she didn't understand why. So that's how she tried to deal with it.

The reason for the Huntress’s mask is so she appears less frightening to little girls she kidnaps. She was raised by her mom in seclusion in a forest but her mom died protecting her from a deer/moose. She was left to fend for herself and became feral to a degree. She has the mentality of a child still. Her territory was invaded by soldiers during WW2 where she killed everybody in her forest. She’d also kidnap little girls from nearby villages and try to keep them alive as long as possible, but they ended up dying from cold, disease, etc. It broke her heart and drove her mad, I think especially since she sees herself in them. The mask was also made by her mom and she collects toys she gets off bodies to give to “her girls.”

My first being the Pathfinder centric Apex legends stories from the outlands, labeled "The Truth" it goes into Pathfinders backstory and its quite heart wrenching, almost as much as Horizons! The Nurse is the only Killer who doesn't use their weapon during the kill. Only the first Moris have 2 different POVs, all after the Clown (Summer 2018) are in 3rd person for both players. Hag's is the only exception. For some Moris there are 2 (or even 3) different Versions with minor animation changes. The only one shown here is from the Twins (Pyramid Head's 2nd one bases off a game mechanic). Myers has 2 add-ons where he can kill multiple people as soon as he gets close enough. In this case he grabs the running Survivor from behind. I'm not sure on this (it could have been a bug) but while using Judith's Tombstone (the more rare of these 2) the Survivor doesn't scream much but chokes more. Also the eyes close here st the end. Clown chooses the index finger (right hand) of a female and the pinky finger (left hand) of a male Survivor. It is believed the reason for this was the introduction of Ashley J. Williams from Ash vs. Evil Dead because he has a cybernetic right hand. The Oni kills all the same but a male Survivor grabs the katana differently.

The point is that all the animations have to be fast and not waste much time on the killer's side, as survivors can still work towards their escape as the killer is performing the mori. The killer has already a lot of pressure on himself and can't afford to lose precious time and stay stuck on unskippable animations for too long. That's why most of them are rather short, being all between 5 to 15 seconds.

Tbh out of all the killers I would NOT wanna face, Oni and Spirit would be in the Top 5. The moment the Oni gets enraged ya better run or hide. Worst part is that if you bleed out you're only making him stronger. To me thats a lot more scary than torture dungeon Pinhead or face eating Demo.

The point of Dead by Daylight's gameplay is that the killer is trying to catch the survivors and place them on sacrificial hooks scattered around the map, but killers and survivors alike can bring tokens called offerings which alter the circumstances of the game, such as sending the group to a specific map. Killers have access to a special offering called a Memento Mori, which permits the killer to directly kill survivors based on the Mori's quality. Each killer also has a unique power that helps to differentiate them, aside from just their Mories. Trapper: Trapper's power is that he can collect scattered bear traps around the map and place them in locations of his choosing, rooting and injuring survivors who step in them and causing them to reveal their location. Wraith: Wraith's power is the Wailing Bell, which he can ring to make himself nearly invisible to survivors and cloaking his "terror radius," which warns survivors when the killer is nearby. Hillbilly: Hillbilly's power lets him run across the map at high speed with a chainsaw, which instantly downs survivors he hits with it. Nurse: Nurse's power is that she can teleport through solid objects, though this inflicts a fatigue state on her after using it. She's one of the most powerful killers in the game and a good nurse can quickly down survivors by chaining two shorter blinks together. Shape: Myers' power is that he can stalk survivors to rank up his power and give himself bonuses. At Evil Within II, Myers gains a speed boost, but increases the size of his terror radius. At Evil Within III, he can instantly down survivors with a basic attack, but his terror radius increases again, and it only lasts about a minute before regressing to Evil Within II. Hag: Hag's power is that she can create traps on the ground which spawn phantasms when survivors step on them. If Hag is nearby when a trap is triggered, she can teleport to the phantasm, which 9 times out of 10 results in a guaranteed hit on the survivor. Doctor: Doctor's power is that he can create static blasts, which drive Survivors mad. He also has access to a shock therapy attack that isn't as powerful as static blast, but temporarily disables important survivor actions like vaulting windows and dropping pallets. Huntress: Huntress' power is that she can collect hatchets from lockers scattered around the map and throw them to damage survivors from a distance. She's another powerful killer, but tends to struggle on indoor maps and maps that have a lot of line-of-sight blockers. Cannibal: Leatherface is very similar to Hillbilly, but the key difference between them is that Bubba's chainsaw sprint is easier to control and can down multiple survivors, at the cost of not being nearly as fast as Hillbilly's and a longer stun duration if he hits an obstacle. Nightmare: Freddy's power is that he can create dream snares on the ground which cause survivors to scream and be slowed if they step in one while in Freddy's dream world (Survivors enter the dream world after a duration has elapsed or if Freddy attacks them). Freddy can also teleport to any generator that hasn't been completed yet, but survivors will see the generator he's teleporting to gush blood, warning them of his approach. Some Freddy players like to equip an add-on that changes out Dream Snares for Dream Pallets, which look identical to real pallets, but don't stun the killer, break instantly when dropped, and slow survivors when dropped. Pig: Pig's power is that she starts the game with a limited number of reverse bear traps, which are activated when survivors finish generators. Once activated, Survivors have a limited duration to remove the bear trap from their head by searching Jigsaw boxes, otherwise they are killed automatically when the timer expires. Clown: Clown's power is that he can throw bottles which blur Survivor's vision and slow them, or increase the speed of both himself and Survivors. The latter type was added to address Clown's lack of map pressure, but all it really did was make Clown better at what he was already good at, which is corralling survivors in a particular direction. Spirit: Spirit's power is that she can enter a phase state that lets her quickly move from one location to another, but she can't see survivors while phased. She's another really powerful killer, on par with Nurse in terms of power, but most of her power comes from her mindgame potential rather than the power itself. Legion: Legion's power is that they can enter a frenzy state which lets them move quickly and inflict deep wound states on survivors, revealing nearby survivors if they hit at least one. However, hitting the same survivor with multiple frenzy stabs will cause Legion to enter a fatigue state. Plague: Plague's power is that she can vomit on survivors and objects to infect them, eventually afflicting survivors with the broken status effect, which puts them in the injured state and keeps them from healing. Survivors can cleanse themselves by using fountains that spawn around the trial, but Plague can drink from used fountains to replace her infecting vomit with a damaging vomit that damages survivors when they're hit. Ghostface: Ghostface's power is similar to Myers' in that he can stalk survivors, but stalking a survivor for long enough puts them in the exposed state, which lets ghostface instantly down them. He cloaks his terror radius to stalk survivors, but survivors can deactivate his ability to stalk them by staring at him. Demogorgon: Demogorgon's power is that he can place portals on the ground that he can fast travel between as long as they're uncleansed by survivors. He can also charge up a pounce attack that lets him leap at and damage survivors if it lands. Oni: Oni's power is that over time, his power gauge fills, which he can accelerate by damaging survivors. Once full, he can enter an enraged state that lets him run at high speed and down survivors instantly with a charged attack, and he can leave it by picking up a survivor to preserve the remainder of the gauge. Deathslinger: Deathslinger's power is that he can fire a speargun that he can use to reel survivors closer to him, which lets him damage them and afflict them with a deep wound like Legion. However, he has to reload it between each use. Executioner: Pyramid Head's power is that he can leave trails in the environment that afflicts Survivors with the tormented status effect, which puts them at unique risks such as Pyramid Head's unique cage of atonement, which acts identically to a hook, but doesn't trigger perks based on them. Pyramid Head can also use a ranged attack to damage survivors through obstacles while leaving his trail. Blight: Blight's power is that he can give himself a movement speed boost and can down survivors during it after slamming into an object. It's one of the more difficult powers to use, but can be really fun if you know how to use it correctly. Twins: Twins' power is that they can split from each other to apply pressure at different areas around the map. Charlotte acts like a standard killer with many of the standard killer attributes, but Victor has a pounce attack similar to Demogorgon's shred and can latch onto survivors to incapacitate them. Nemesis: Nemesis' power is that he can use his tentacle to afflict survivors with the contaminated status effect, which opens them up to being damaged by future tentacle strikes. Contaminated survivors also build up Nemesis' mutation rate, at mutation rate II, tentacle strike can break pallets and breakable walls, and at mutation rate III, the range is increased. Cenobite: Pinhead's power is that he can open gates to attack survivors with chains that slow and incapacitate them. In addition, a unique item called the Lament Configuration spawns somewhere in the trial that randomly summons chains to attack Survivors. If the Survivor picks it up and solves it, they prevent chains from being randomly spawned for a duration, but Pinhead can see their location and teleport to them. If Pinhead picks it up, he spawns chains on all survivors and force them to reveal their location. And that's all the killers and their powers. In addition to their unique powers, each killer also comes with a set of three perks that provide killers with additional passive effects (survivors have their own set of perks, too). There are too many to go over here, but here are some of the most common: Tinkerer (notifies the killer when survivors are about to finish a generator and provides the undetectable status effect for a duration), Hex: Ruin (regresses generators when Survivors aren't actively working on them as long as the related hex totem remains standing), Pop goes the Weasel (after hooking a survivor, the next time the killer damages a generator, it instantly loses 25% of its progress), Discordance (Notifies the killer when multiple survivors are working on the same generator), and Corrupt Intervention (prevents the three generators farthest from the killer from being repaired for the first minutes of the trial, especially popular on setup killers like Trapper and Hag).
