When this first came out I lost my mind when Mercy came in for the clutch heal. As a mercy main I couldn't ask for more.

Every time I watch these I'm pure watery eyes, as someone who has played since beta and put 3,000+ hours into the game, I love these characters so much

Genji's entrance always makes me laugh because you can see Winston behind him just sitting there like he didn't actually have a plan if he were to get shot by the giant omnic's beam lol

Her name is Mercy. She is Swiss, Angela Zeigler, the medic from the original Overwatch group of Amari, Jack Morrison (Soilder 76), Winston, Reinhardt, Reaper, Tracer and Torbjörn (Bridgette's father).

At the beginning they show all the seats with the names which are the original characters, they're in the picture that Winston was looking at. Morrison and Amari are the two in the middle and the one that looks like an angel (named Mercy in game) is Ziegler, and Lindholm is referring to Brigitte's father. I'm glad you guys finally got to see and really appreciate the world that was built! I've played since the game launched and I've come to be attached to the characters to the point where I've watched the video over 30 times with so many people and I still get choked up watching the part where Winston says "I'll hold the line." Genji being one of my favorite characters, I absolutely loved him coming in being badass, but the best part is that they truly brought everyone together finally in one epic standoff. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot more overwatch shorts to watch, this was the final big one. There's still the one with Doomfist which I highly recommend, the art style by itself is awesome and different than what we're used to. There's also "The Plan" with Junkrat and Roadhog.

The part where Genji slices the robots hand to prevent it from catching tracer gets me everytime. The short silence and then how the epic theme kicks in along with his catchphrase... Audiovisually that's masterfully. What acti-blizzard should actually have done would be making a movie franchise. There are so many good animated movies out there and the overwatch universe should be among them.

I’ve only played the game a little bit, but I love the lore. I’ve seen all the animated shorts at least a dozen times, and I still get the same feelings every time. Such an awesome story.

Glad you liked this cinematic! It's probably the best so far. Also the reason Soldier 76 isn't back is because he doesn't want to come back to Overwatch. He would rather be a vigilante and has kind of given up on Overwatch and doesn't think it will be worth coming back to. He used to be the leader of Overwatch in the past and Overwatch becoming illegal under his watch probably discourages him from coming back to it. I have a feeling he will come back to Overwatch if they become a successful group again. Hanzo is probably going to join Overwatch eventually as long as he doesn't get corrupted to Talon at some point. He just needs to decide what to do but Hanzo will likely join Overwatch at some point in the story. Mccree will probably join back up with them eventually too once he's ready. The angel is Mercy, she just didn't get a cinematic but obviously she came back too. She's basically the team's main healer. When more cinematics get released for Overwatch eventually, I hope you'll react to those too.

Angela Zigler aka Mercy is a german doctor, who saved Genji's life after his brother almost killed him. She travels across the Earth into the most dungerous places and conflicts. Not to punish bad guys, but to heal and safe civilians and other heroes.

I cry several times, every time I watch Zero Hour. First when Winston says he'll hold the line and promises them that he'll be "Right Behind You." And Then again when Genji comes to save the day (Called the Genji Save). I started playing OW after all the other cinematic trailers were released and binged them and loved them. This was the first I got to watch upon release. Felt really special to me and have watched it what feels like 100 times since. I really hope you all enjoyed these cinematics as much as I did/have! This video is great because all of the characters did their roles in battle. Tank blocked damage while supports healed and damage dealers like genji wreck worlds lmao

this is an old video but with OW 2 coming out just yesterday I wanted to rewatch the cinematics with someone. Found your channel and just marathoned all the videos in this playlist and I have to say it was a real pleasure rewatching all these with you two. great reactions and such great talks at the end. I've seen all of these tons of times before but watching it with you two made it fresh again. This video in particular had me in tears. I came for the Overwatch but I'm going to check out some of your other stuff too cause this was just the best reactions I've watched in a long time.

One of the things I appreciate about Overwatch is that the characters aren't all young hotshots. The first generation of Overwatch agents are veterans, they have lived lives. When they pan across their seats on the transport you can see pictures of them with their kids and families. It really serves to humanize them. Heck, in the case of two characters being an Overwatch agent runs in the family. Ana and Torbjorn were first generation members and now their kids, Pharah and Brigitte respectively, are new generation members.

Just a heads up, McCree’s name has been changed to Cole Cassidy. This was because the employee Jesse McCree was found guilty of sexually harassing multiple employees, so the fact that the character was named after him was a bit awkward. The lore explanation for this was the McCree was simply an alias for Cassidy (which would kind of make sense, given the life he lives).

there is an ongoing meme about Mercy being half split between Genji and Pharah. Pharah was somewhat star-struck by 17-year-old Mercy when she was a little girl and her mom Ana was a full member of Overwatch, so obviously the fan base shipped them. 20 years later, Mercy helped recover and heal Genji into the cyborg he is now, so of course the fan base shipped them "playing doctor" as well. there's a bunch of flirty voice lines between them in game, so it's somewhat canon.

one of the things i love about the Zero Hour cinematic, is that it is Mei's first actual Overwatch mission outside of her work as a scientist, and she was immediately accepted as part of the team, when she asked Tracer for a pulse bomb, Tracer didn't hesitate and completely trusted that Mei knew what she was doing.

The angel is Mercy, whose real name is Dr. Angela Ziegler. :) She reconstructed Genji's body with cybernetics after his initial fight with Hanzo. Hanzo thought Genji was dead because he most likely would not have survived without Angela.

Fun fact: Reaper (the one with a mask and can turn into a black mist) is an original member of overwatch before.

I haven't played OW in a long time, but Zero Hour always pulls my strings x3.

Honestly this OW short is SO emotional, I mean every single part of it, like you said, first one thinks that Winston is gonna die so there's that, then everyone starts coming up and the chills continue, and yeah obviously it helps a lot to play the game because you get attached with the characters so when you see them getting together one more time it's beautiful, plus can we talk about the soundtrack? IT'S FR*AKING AWESOME, it goes really well with the scene, in my opinion the combination of the soundtrack and the reunion scene itself makes Zero Hour the best OW short so far!

The Overwatch shorts always make me emotional, because they are so good and I was so invested in Overwatch and it's lore for a long time. I absolutely can't wait for Overwatch 2 to come out and for it to actually have a story mode.

little fun fact/speculation: the big robot is very similar to ones you can see in Volskaya, in Russia, the area from the Infiltration short, so its likely this is the Russian Omnium invading Paris

The plasma cannon in the middle of the robot was impressive ... and the cryonetic bomb was even better at the end

I was kinda sad that Mercy never got her own short, I think she may be in my top 3 favorite characters and she just kinda got left behind until Zero Hour. I'm a big fan of playing support/healer type roles and empowering my team to do their best, so if I ever did end up actually playing Overwatch I'd probably try her out. Conceptually, I just think she's awesome (I'm big on angels and characters with angelic designs). Really glad I got to join you guys on this journey through Overwatch! I've never played it myself because honestly I prefer solo games or stuff that's ONLY people playing alongside each other. I find that any time you do teams vs teams, it gets too competitive and people take it too seriously...I'm more of a "I got your back" kinda person than a "I'm gonna kick your ass" kind of person lol. Regardless of whether or not it's my kind of game, Overwatch has such great characters and story ideas that it definitely holds a fond place in my heart. I'm hoping Blizzard can get their business all sorted out so they can get back to making all my favorite game franchises lol. I'm ready for Diablo IV, and it just got pushed back! Agony! lol.
