Acme threads can transfer power in both directions...... Buttress thread can transfer only in one direction........ This is the limitation of buttress thread.......

Hlo sir buttres threads are used to transmit power in one direction only because they have 45degree angle between the two teeth.and theese type of threads are used in ratchet type spanners.

Yes square threads can transmit power more effective than acme because they have angle 90degree so that it has more frictional coefficient.

Yes some threads can unscrew itself those threads are called as overhauling threads.theese threads have Alfa value is greater than the pie value.

Buttress thread is used to transfer power only along one axis but along both the directions like clamping & unclamping a work-piece.

It was not a nice explanation.....he was only telling the book definition . He dose not explain or show how the power screw look like..either he can show a sample of power screw...or an animation to explain it
