Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down House Of The Dragon.

There's just been a big panel at Comic Con XP and along with this we also got our first look at the brand new season. Throughout this video we're gonna be breaking down what could be happening in the show and also discussing what we think could happen. Heavy Spoilers ahead and we will touch upon some major things in the book so if you don't want to know then turn off now. If you want a more spoiler filled video then make sure you check out our blood and cheese breakdown for whats gonna be something that breaks the internet.
Anyway with that out the way, let's get into House Of The Dragon Season 2.

Now the main thrust of season 2 is gonna be the dance of the dragons in which we pick up in the aftermath of Season 2. We closed things out with the first blood being drawn and that's led us into the son for a son arc. That's actually gonna be the title of episode two which will see Rhaenyra being out for vengeance.
Aemond of course ended up killing Lucerys but the book played things slightly differently. In that Aemond didn't regret it or at least that's what we heard from the second hand accounts. They also had one person believing the Lucerys had fallen into the water below and woke up carrying amnesia. This said that...said that he went on to live a peaceful and happy life unaware of what happened and that's...that's how I like to think of him.

I honestly think that's silverwing. Seasmoke has a reddish color in his wings. He's also roughly around the same age and size as Syrax. This Dragon is allot bigger than Syrax would indicate being an older dragon. At first I thought maybe it could have been Dreamfyre. But it is said she has pale blue wings and she stays in the dragon pit throughout the entire war. This dragon has a metallic color with a pale metallic/silvery color wings. I could be wrong but for now I'm going with Silverwing. Which could mean that the disgusted look on Rhaenyra's face mean she realizes there is a drunken idiot on a old and large dragon lol.

Rhaenyra isn't fire proof rather she was burned and eaten by Aegon's dragon Sunfyre. Daenerys wasn't fireproof either. We have to blame that stupid show for the misconception. Every time Daenerys seemed to escape being burned alive she was performing some pretty powerful blood-magic. She escaped Drogo's pyre because 3 people with King's blood died immediately preceding that event namely Viserion, Drogo who was a Dothraki King aka Khal, and her unborn child Rhaego. Mirri Maz Dur's burning also added to the magic. Blood-magic was also involved the second time Daenerys escaped being burned ie the Burning of the Dothraki Khals. All of them were Kings and when they died the power in their King's blood aided Daenerys to escape unburned. If Daenerys tried walking into a fire without sacrificing someone first then she would burn to a crisp and she may instinctively knows this.

@gerardjagroo I know that’s kind of how it is in the books but they did change it for the tv show. Dany takes scorching hot baths without issues and tells her brother he wasn’t a dragon, sorreee, because fire wouldn’t have hurt a dragon. In the show the premise is: she is immune to fire and she knows it. I do actually like the idea but yeah, it’s mega confusing now that no one is fireproof in HotD…🙈

@@LittleKikuyu The author of the books GRRM said that the Targaryens have a higher resistance to fire the same way the Starks have a higher resistance to the cold but that does not mean that the Targaryens are immune to fire _as Targaryens can and do burn_ eg Rhaenyra, Rhaenys and Aerion Brightflame and also Starks can freeze if exposed to too much cold even if they have a higher tolerance to it that ordinary people. I think the source of the Targaryens fire resistance is that they are the blood of the dragon, a phrase that is thrown around _a lot_ in the books and you better believe it has a deeper meaning. The Starks resistance to cold may come from the fact that they are descended from the Others/White Walkers so of course they have a higher resistance to cold. The whole story is called the Song of Ice and Fire and that would indicate that Stark and Targaryen are two of the most important Houses in the story. There are different kinds of magic refered to in the books. The Fire magic of the Valyrian Freehold, the Ice sorcery of the Others and their control of the undead, the Water magic of the Rhoynar, Blood-magic, Shadowbinding, and the Hive-Mind green magic of the Children of the Forest. I think the green magic Hive-Mind will win out in the end as all of the other kinds of magic are very destructive in one way or the other and George is opposed to that kind of thing and he is also very anti-war so I don't think the ultimate winners would be the biggest killers. King Bran aligns with this idea, a Greenseer King knowing the stories and joys, triumphs and sorrows of all mankind and someone with the knowledge to rule well. I think Bran would be a Hive-Mind like in his other books. George has a thing for Hive-Minds and they always seem to win in his other books.

@@gerardjagroo then I hope they do make that change for the tv show, I thought it was like *certain* Targaryen’s are fire proof but not all of them, since Danny could take it but her brother melted, and in my comment I’m just saying i wish rheanerya was one of them so that when she gets covered in fire she actually doesn’t die- I wouldn’t mind if the show changes the books events and make her survive it but I know it’s kinda silly and book inaccurate- but it’s like my favorite concept from the GOT world even if it’s only in the show Because it makes the idea that targaryens are in fact Gods even more true! and it really would be cool as fuck if the Starks could be considered gods too if the tv show made it so they could be resistant to frostbite or smthn like the Ts are with fire Like book accuracy is good and I’m sure die hard fans would prefer it that way but like I want crazier fantasy plots and some people having insane powers that run through bloodlines is so fucking cool and fantastical, I’d much rather watch the show change the events and in my fanfiction rheanerya is fire proof and doesn’t die when her nephew burns her alive, maybe other T family members die from fire but very specific Ts do in fact have, blood of the dragons, But whatever, Danny did blood magic 😭, targaryens and starks aren’t gods,😭😭😭

About gender roles!!?!! 🤣🤣🤣 That’s just one of the themes. I think the main theme possibly being how destructive violence and revenge are…also, no one owes you anything. If you don’t like the show, just don’t watch 😂
