If you ever wondered what PAR values are acceptable for different coral types - this video will help you get a definitive answer. Love the stands your tanks are on. I recently saw a custom tank that i loved with similar stands, curious about water dripping down though. Is the top made of wood? If so, how do you prevent rot from water dripping down.

Ive jist par mapped my redsea90 & the 15k spectrum has 4x the par of the 23k.pity as i love blue lighting on reef tanks.ill start slowly upping the whites as currently hitting 100 at surface 😢

He feeds a lot, but tons of corals take care of nutrients by consuming them primarily

Hi , great video . Ich habe also the G5 Pro xR15 - so u do Booth blues , Violet , uv at 100% and red/ green at 25% and whites off all day long for around 9h and 100-150par for the LPS ? Thanks :)

Did you witness these numbers as he was reading them off or did he have full control of the PAR meter? Some of his numbers didn't add up based on Coral placement.

Right before we shot the video we did go around and measured the PAR everywhere so I saw these numbers with my own eyes. For the video - I did not see the values as Dimo was reading them out, I'm sure he tried to be as accurate as possible. And from what I recall - all of those numbers where in line with what I saw.

@@TreasureCorals Thanks for the reply Dmitry. I've bleached SPS under 280 PAR with LED, so I think it's very interesting with that high of PAR. Fascinating stuff, thanks for the video.

@@hurricaneaquatics Agreed, in my experience I have had success running even 600-700 par on the tank, and sometimes I bleach at 250 par :) maybe it is nutrient related, maybe something else. Still a mystery to me, but Dimo does know his stuff.

PAR is different from spectrum right? Like you can get the same PAR levels in a light for freshwater planted tank but the spectrum will not be good for corals?

Yes, they are different. And spectrum may affect corals differently - you'd want a strong blue channel no matter what with some supplementation of white, red and others. But the intensity/PAR is what's crucial for corals and is so much higher in a reef tank than freshwater for the most part.

Depends on an aquarium. On SPS - it is closer to 100%, but he is also using different number of lights

Interesting take. I think that it might just be a section where each coral costs differently and having an individual price tag would be tough to manage.
