Hi, you know how you separated the deflection equation into each separate part of the beam, why does the constants comes into the first part? Thanks
@mechpm
@mechpm 4 ай бұрын
Because if we add in first portion then it can be accommodated in any padt of beam. If you add constant in last portion then for first portion you need to add different constants

is dy/dx shear force? and can we find the max moment by integrating that using these equations? Because by plugging in the (1) equation into my graphing calculator I tried finding the maximum moment, but the location and magnitude seems very incorrect.
@mechpm
@mechpm 2 жыл бұрын
dy/dx represents slope of beam. if you want to find Shear Force then you have to differentiate Bending equation. means you have to find d3y/dx3. anyway I have solved all type of problems in this channel so if you want to learn then go to playlist and watch from 1st video

Sir at 2:51 in Mx equation we only considered left part of the x like ra , 48kn & 40kn but we didn't consider the right side part rb in the equation. Don't we need to consider that ?
@mechpm
@mechpm Жыл бұрын
I think there is no need because you can move x distance up to last end of the beam plus when you are calculating deflection in any portion you have to consider only left side forces. in case of overhanging or cantilever beam you may have to consider but in SSB when x= L moment will become zero around that load anyway. you can watch this video for basics of Maycaulay's method kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbx2gt11r6ycZJs.html

dy/dx represents slope from equation 2 you can find it at different points like x=0 at left support and x= Length of beam at right support

Why didn't take 3rd section in making Quadratic equation
@mechpm
@mechpm 4 ай бұрын
Because in Macaulay's method you have to consider upto that section only where deflection is to be calculated. you can watch from 1st video of this method from playlist to understand it better.
@arjunsaini2207

For slope calculation why didn't u take (x-3)^2 into consideration?
@mechpm
@mechpm 3 жыл бұрын
Because In this method you write equation for all loads and supports in one line but during calculating deflection or slope we have to consider terms upto that point only where you are calculating slope. In this case the termed I neglected is towards other side of the maximum slope. We have to consider only terms or loads which are left to maximum deflection point. I hope you got it still if you have doubt I will try to clarify

@@mechpm ok...if we have another load of same 48KN at a distance of 4m from left end than should we have to consider this 3rd load in slope calculation?
@mechpm
@mechpm 3 жыл бұрын
No because from symmetry you can guess that maximum slope will occur at 3 m from left so you have to consider all loads only upto 3m.so we will not include 48 kn at 4m.

Sir... Good presentation... Can we use the formulae to find this... Wa2b2/3EIL for max deflection
@mechpm
@mechpm 3 жыл бұрын
You can't directly use this formula because this formula is used directly for single centric load on SSB. But you can use superimposition method of two SSBs with formulas wa2b2/3EI and for second beam wl4/48EI
@mechpm
@mechpm 3 жыл бұрын
For this you have to consider 2 beams with single load each then find deflections individually and then add both
