Trenton brand has been a thorn in my side for years, I'm not selling them any longer. Just today I told my supplier to get these in and then I find this video. Apple storage has defrost heaters but the temp isn't lower than 29F, so all I need is to get the coil temp down so the heat doesn't blow into the room. Any suggestions what to set this at, if not then I'll have to do trials to find the sweet spots. GREAT video.

The only thing I’d say about that is, those temperatures on that sensor are not reflecting the coil temperature unless they are mounted ON the copper tubing as some are. Now, the reason it’s 35f ( not cold enough to freeze the water on the coil ) is that this particular sensor is mounted to the tube sheet end area. So, the coil is hopefully colder than 35f, otherwise it will blow the water droplets off the coil and freeze on your floor. I think the better ones, are the 25f sensors that clip onto the U bends. The reason is, what if the cabinet/ box is plenty cold even after defrost and the sensor chills down quickly due to a very cold box temp, before the coil can freeze the water on the coil..... just a thought. Also some of these units have a drip timer that allows water to drip off the coil.
@Cscrefandhvac4 жыл бұрын
hvac01453 yes great point man 👍 this was the only types I had on my truck to show as an example . Most units that are in a control system have a drip time thanks for mentioning that. I didn’t mention that in this vid 👍

Great video, just went into a warehouse size freezer with 8 evaporators using 407 refrigerant for a negative 10 temp setting. Anyways getting 95 % humidity in this place. Box was engineered for a 10 degree set point and walls and ceiling are 6 inches. I think this is the problem what’s your take?

So defrost termination shouldn't be triggered all the time right? The defrost clock timer should switch to refrigeration before it trips dtfd. Or does it need to be tripped all the time for refrigeration to come back on
@Cscrefandhvac4 жыл бұрын
Brian Pan the clock should switch. This is just for if the coil wasn’t very frosted and the system didn’t need to run through a full defrost cycle

There’s an old saying, you can teach a refrigeration guy to do air conditioning but you can’t teach an ac guy refrigeration. When I started doing commercial the only background I had was residential HVAC. You just have to want to learn and have an open mind and you can pick it up.
@deanmohamed75753 жыл бұрын
Too many morons out there just bypassing this switch and turning the box into an igloo. Do the right thing and change it out.
