I just had a beautiful baby girl a week ago.. My father passed away from a tough battle with brain cancer a week before I found out we were going to have my first child.. this song has opened up many emotions in me that I thought were lost forever.. these lyrics caught me bec once I found out my father had cancer, that was the day he arrived as a different man and there was no leaving his side, like I was entombed in chains, on the last few days of his fight the medication had him as safe and sound as he had been in a year and he wasn't able to see anything but shapes and colors as he took his last breath.. then when my baby was born the lyrics hit me again. since the day she arrived, I've been by her side like I was entombed in chains.. and while she was placed inside the womb safe and sound, shapes and colors were all she could see.. what a rush of emotions and all of them are positive, and motivation to make my father proud by being the best father I can be.. thank you chino, thank you Deftones!

this is actually one of my favorite Deftones songs, and ive been a huge, huge fan since i was 10 years old.. im 23 now.. that really says something about the composition of the song and the way he can completely go from one end of the vocal spectrum to the other.. this song is the only Deftones song that utilizes Chinos amazing vocal ability and pairs it with subtle instrumentals.. honestly Chino doesnt even need the instrumentals to make an amazing song, but this one is a huuuuuge bonus
