Chino uses that theme in many Deftones tracks. All great bands do that. Water and drowning are recurring themes. Think of Cherry Waves. A British band called Suede do the same thing. They've been around as long as Deftones and keep getting better. Pure art. If you desire something new, check out the Suede album called Night Thoughts. Great record. Cheers to you for having good taste in music.

This razor wire! And dine on your heart! Mine till the end! [Verse 2] Stuck with illusion now I drown in your sea I hope that you'll first save yourself And then come for me [Chorus] Cut through! This razor wire! And dine on your heart! Mine till the end! Break through! Clip the wires! And writhe in your heart! Mine till the end! [Bridge] A way! A way out! A way! Down deep into your veins All the way, all the way Down deep in your heart All the way, all the way [Chorus] Cut through! This razor wire! Writhe till the end! Break through! Clip the wire! Daniel Ingram i dont think so. he says "mine til the end" because it implies possession of the heart. the heart belongs to the person or thing whom the lyrics are spoken from, free to dine on and do whatever they want, until the end. the victim cant escape it, their heart belongs to the very thing that is consuming and destroying them. it could be an addiction or something.

Wow. This song gave me chills. Reminds me of why I've loved this band for the last 20 years. Deftones and Tool/APC are my favorite artists EVER. I don’t know why, but their music digs deep into my soul and has the ability to bring out something I am not able to feel unless I hear their music. I am SOOOO grateful for their existence.

I listen to just about everything, but every time I listen to Deftones something comes over me. Chino's voice, the soft ballads, heavy rifts and the lyrics just bring me to a whole nother level. I feel real emotions and I feel normal. I am in zen mode. I've been listening to them since 1998 and I'm 30 now. They have aged like fine wine and only gotten better. I wholy agree with your comment. I hope everyone actually BUYS this album instead of using Spotify or illegally downloading it for your IPod (if people still use them). It's actually a win-win-win situation because you have a physical copy, you appreciate the music since you payed for it, and you keep Deftones in business. If you like Deftones and say you are a fan, show it by buying an album. Do this for other newer bands too because nowadays, the only money they make is through touring, so album money can really help them out. Thanks guys

+Drake Davis its funny but you'd think Deftness would be a hip enough band to realize that nobody is going to buy this, I mean you do hear a lot of their songs in TV shows and movies, so i think thats where they plan to make the bucks. but yea i agree, but disagree, obviously for the die hards your going to want a hard official copy to crank up in the system, maybe even a vinyl version would be a good idea.
