Kathleen's dreams are coming true. Scott is the perfect boyfriend - considerate, affectionate, even gives her flowers. She can forgive him if he's kind of hot tempered - he's got a lot of troubles at home, and really, she deserves it when he gets upset with her. Liz encourages Spike to go out with a boy for the first time since Emma was born, and she's so nervous she almost blows it.

I agree with musicluver. It isn't about whether "all" guys are like that, but to focus on dealing with the one she has. It is the fault of both men and women that this happens, since too many boys are taught by their parents that they are entitled to treat a girl however they want to, and too many girls are taught that the important thing is to have a boyfriend, no matter what kind he is. Boys need to learn to respect girls and girls need to respect themselves and be okay by themselves. No girl or woman should need a man, to feel whole or okay.

Scott's attitude is typical of abusers : They demean their prey and humiliate them so much that the victim thinks she's bad and that she deserves a bad treatment..Scott tells Katleen she's not a good actress to prevent her from doing what she likes the most and have power on her. "You're lucky i'm going out because nobody else wants you".Sick bastard!

In the beginning of DJH I hated Kathleen because she was rude for what seemed like no reason, but as we found out more about her backstory and her storyline started developing I actually like her more and I feel bad for her.

To be honest I usually don't like Kathleen too much, but seeing this episode makes me think she now has some more depth to her character. I wonder what the next few episodes will be like. We'll just have to wait and see!

Katleen's mom is an alcoholic in the series so she got used to be treated badly and finally finds a guy that molests her but she thinks she deserves it because she never had loving parents.It often happens to teenagers who were abused to fall in love with abusers until they learn to respect themselves and to have a best self esteem.

Too bad most of the Degrassi High episodes have some of the original content taken out. For example, in the original episode called "Nobody's Perfect", it had one segment where Joey was singing "Everybody Wants Something" and then Caitlin stops him to arrange a time for a Drama assignment rehearsal, Kathleen doing here rehearsal and chatting with Mr. Walfish, and another segment with Kathleen bruised, scared, and holding on to a teddy bear in her room with the phone ringing after Scott abused her near the end of the episode. I'm wondering why these three parts were taken out in this version.
