Ashley’s leaving for the summer, and the idea of their temporary farewell and the stress of writing a song for Kevin Smith’s movie -- is making him, well, nuts. So Craig decides to do whatever it takes to follow her, finding a summer music school program that would be perfect. Only trouble is how is going to convince Joey to let him go as Craig is still learning to deal with being bi-polar. But the biggest hurdle turns out to be Ashley. Turns out, she not just going to England for a great work opportunity. She’s also going to get some space. She’s worn out by worrying about Craig and his illness.
Distraught by Ashley’s rejection but unwilling to let Joey know that his very “rational” plans didn’t work out, Craig falls into some irrational behaviour…
Kevin Smith’s in town -- and Caitlin’s covering it for her community show, “Local Heroes”. Turns out, he’s a major fan of her old show, Ryan’s Planet. Too bad she’s not getting the same respect and admiration from Joey or her boss. And Caitlin herself confiding her troubles to Kevin Smith, which leads to unexpected kiss -- and more confusion…

In the one-hour season premiere special, it’s a new year and Paige is called to testify in her rape case. Emotions run high as she must confront her attacker face to face.
