Andrea Dowell yeah, but still with dicipline it can be very hard to keep all the anger in, and you don’t always get why you are angry, at whom, or when. Often I just realize afterwards, sometimes it’s just.. I feel. I just don’t know what until afterwards, it’s very hard. (I’m speaking from my own autistic experience, I, myself, am diagnosed with autism and lived with it my whole life, and the diagnosis 7 years, soon 8 years.) Both my mom and others had said that I’m just “undiciplined”, but it’s not always like that. Sometimes, it can just be very hard to function, in a “normal” way. Keeping my room organized and tidy, not interrupting others when they talk, I’m just “into” my feelings, you know, when you are just in affect and can’t control it, it’s like adhd when you hyper focus on some things and you just block other stuff out, but with the emotions, it’s all this big emotion, right there, you are feeling it, and it just takes over you, and not until after it’s done you realized what you have done. And you say sorry. It can be very hard with impulse control and controlling your emotions, not only if you have adhd, but when you have autism also. Because you have difficulty with emotions, understanding them, others emotions, and also your own, especially when undiagnosed, stuff like that can be very hard, also when you feel frustration but you don’t even know it is frustration, you are just “in” the emotion, it’s like when you are in trance. It’s hard to explain, but just... it’s not as easy as people think. And then again, I’ve had dicipline. Lots of it. I still have a hard time controlling my emotions, when I’m in the “zone” (of emotions, this kind of trance of emotions ), overwhelmed by emotions or just one big emotion. I’m not saying what he did was right, he should have tackled it different. I’m just saying, it’s not that easy, and it doesn’t always work “one way”, people with autism are all very different, has different behaviors and different feelings, and different understanding about their -and other’s- feelings. But also, if the parents don’t know it is autism, they parent as they would with other kids, and that is not the right thing to do. Because kids with autism are special. They work differently, and they also express differently. It’s very important though to work with your kids and show them that they can’t always have their way, but you can compromise. You get to do something you like, and they get to do something they like, so like 50/50. :) And also homework, food and go to sleep. It’s not always that people are too spoiled, it’s just that some have special needs. :)

They actually do a great job with Connor, his character development is great. In the later seasons he matures so much. No one knew he was autistic not even Connor himself. But he learns.
