Nope. It starts with Kids of Degrassi, Degrassi Jr High, Degrassi High, Degrassi the Next Generation, and everything else after

Well, no and yes. If you mean "Degrassi Junior High", then on one hand no, it wasn't the first Degrassi series created and televised. That one premiered in 1987, while "Kids of Degrassi Street" premiered in 1979 and went on through the early or mid 80s. At the same time, on the other hand, "Kids of Degrassi Street" is not really part of the Degrassi canon (Degrassi Junior High, Degrassi High, Next Generation, etc..) It's in a separate universe, and the other TV shows that follow belong to another separate universe. In fact, from what I've heard and read and from what little I've seen (up to now I've seen fewer than three episodes), several of the future Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High actors and actresses either guest-starred or were co-starred as series regulars on Kids of Degrassi Street, but they played completely different roles. I also read that the fellow who played Wheels guest-starred as another character on one or two episodes of "Kids". I believe that the folks who played Susie and Caitlin on DJH were series regulars on Kids of Degrassi Street starring as entirely different characters. If I'm not mistaken, the girl who played Caitlin on DJH/DH/TNG co-starred on "Kids", playing a child named Lisa. Therefore, the first TV series belonging to the Degrassi canon (the junior high and high schools, et al) is in fact "Degrassi Junior High".

I've never seen "The Kids" before but I've read about it. The acting and direction were better than I expected so I'm mildly impressed.

It was really grim in a way,,seemed so different from the happy tv shows, this was shown uk mid 1980s.

It shouldn't be a rule a kid's name should start with an I,N, or a C. Kids don't choose their names, their parents name them. Anyone notice Sara in the hospital is Irene? The actress was casted a year later as Irene. Either they decided to make her a regular character or she lied about her name to get in the INC club.

I don't remember these late 70s episodes of Degrassi..I was 2. I more-so remember the 80s one..this is an interesting episode, because I had to have a lot of operations as a kid..I have CP..& I never liked the colour of the scrubs- (Green) it scared me. I thought the same thing, why scrubs are green?? 🤔 😷 Good question..?? 😮😷
