Brilliant, brilliant lectures all of them. highly recommend all nursing and medical students to watch all of Dr Matt and Dr Mike's lectures. So well explained. I encourage everyone to watch and like them. Thank you so much for explaining anatomy and physiology so thoroughly and making it so easy to understand. After 30 years of nursing, it's all starting to make sense. Brilliantly explained.

Gillian Smith o wow! I thought I was the only one who had trouble understanding some of these things that us nurses should know really well about. But these two teachers actually understand that not all teaching methods are the same. For the first time since graduating in 2014 do I feel like I am on the same page as the doctors. Thanks to these brilliant educators 🥰

Yes but the point is adh makes the urine more concentrated (because more water is reabsorbed, but not more solutes) which in turn reduces osmolarity as desired. Maybe that was obvious.

Is this why urine turns yellow when you finally go to the toilet? Because the concentration of waste products have been increasing in the bladder, but the water has been reabsorbed in the blood plasma? Do waste products also get reabsorbed along with the water, or do waste products stay behind in the bladder, eventually accumulating over time?

So here's a question. In a patient with renal failure (egfr < 8 and on dialysis) and who passes no urine, what happens? Say this dialysis patient drinks a few too many beers and manages to get into a state of dehydration. He doesn't pee anyway. How does he pull stored fluid from the cells back into the blood?
